Thanks, Dave, for the great read.

Yea today is for today, future tripping will be saved for a little later...

Losing a quit a person has invested such effort in is definitely tough. QSMB June 2016 was almost 8 months, and this last Train ride was 1year and 5 months.

There are always excuses a person makes for the reason they relapsed, that reason is really just the addiction finding its way into a person's weakest times.

I can't go back and as long as I am quit today, I am ok.

You will do it Stew!!!  I truly believe if you stay on the train, you will achieve your goal like we all have!!!💪👍😃

Thanks QG.

I haven't gotten too far away from this laptop.

Time for stupid pills and sleep.

I will be here tomorrow.

Goodnight.

My hot water tank gave up this morning. Spraying all over the basement. I just ordered a new one and will pick it up and install it. Gonna be tough with the left arm still in recovery from rotator cuff surgery.

I am being tested pretty constant today.

But I will KTQ.

I remember when mine hot water tank failed a couple of years ago. It was quite the unpleasant surprise but with me it wasn't during the early days of my quit. Those times of unexpected headaches really do test us and make it difficult to focus on anything else. Good for you @Stewbum for hanging on :)

Mine went around 5 years ago, right in the middle of Covid and my plumber had a hard time getting one, but thankfully he was able to.  The bad thing about the water heaters is that they don't give you any warning that they are breaking.  One day they work fine, the next day you have water all over your basement or garage.  Nope, Stew, that Nickodemon won't come and help you with anything except trying to get you to smoke again!!! Glad you are able to resist!💪👍

Alas, the Nic O. Demon is helping you build the concrete foundation to make your quit stronger.  Smile and say "Thank You" to the smuck.  Or maybe not ...  .

Whatever it takes is certainly okay with me.  😎  I especially like the walk away part.  Perspective (& humor) was a big help for me.   You got this.  Keep it up.

A relapse with all the normal excuses plus a few new ones... The Shame that keeps one occupied and the fear of failure. Yep I am still alive and ready to start the war all over.

Monday was my granddaughter's 1st birthday. I would like to be her grandpa for as long as I can. So day 2 of hell week is upon me.

I hope my ticket on the train has not lapsed and my seat is still available?

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
