November 5, 201411 yr Hi... Alex is doing ok.... worried she is a it depressed but doing fine. Mrs. Chrispy woke up yesterday morning and Alex was doing this weird coughing thing...so she rushed to take the halo off. She then walked to the kitchen and by the time she turned back around "the dog" was already going after one of her 2 remaining stitches. I think Miss Alex is quite the actress. No...I did not try the panty hose... I was going to but tomorrow I take her to the vet to get the 2 stitches taken out...so this will no longer be an issue. I had the collar off most of the weekend...because I was with her most of the time...being lazy watching football most of the weekend. So all will be good tomorrow....I will update after the horrid vet visit. Keep on keepin on.
November 5, 201411 yr Author She will be a lot happier tomorrow....when the stitches that are left get takin out ,she most probably won't need the cone... Glad she,s ok..... Yes a update tomorrow please... Xxxxx
November 5, 201411 yr Have to laugh at the pouting, don't take my picture face. Mine used to do that. He was a beautiful dog, but whenever I tried to take his pic he would screw his eyes up and do something with his mouth and end up looking dreadful. Hope she is feeling much better, Chrispy!

Ha...that made me laugh. Same here....no matter how happy she actually is... as soon as she realizes I am taking her pict...boom into pouty face. Sometimes I wish she could talk...other times I am glad she can't :o
November 11, 201411 yr Ha...that made me laugh. Same here....no matter how happy she actually is... as soon as she realizes I am taking her pict...boom into pouty face. Sometimes I wish she could talk...other times I am glad she can't :o Hey, Chrispy, how's Alex doing? Leg all healed up?
November 12, 201411 yr Hey, Chrispy, how's Alex doing? Leg all healed up? Alex is doing ok. No...she is not all healed up. She did get her stitches out though. I have to keep her confined...can't let her run around or anything like that. They put a piece of "nylon" in her knee to act like the tendon and now she has to build up scar tissue to support it so that it does not tear. in about 1 week I can take her for a 5 minute walk 3 times a day. I will do that for 2 weeks and then change it up to a 10 minute walk 3 times a day...and so on and so on. The Dr. said at about 16 weeks I should be able to let her off the leash. Kinda stinks cause she loves to run and play... but this is what is best for her. Thank you for asking.
November 12, 201411 yr Author Aww Chrispy.....poor Alex.......slow healing process..... They don't understand...it's for thier benieft..... Plenty of treats....
November 12, 201411 yr She'll be plump by the time she gets to run again, or totally lazy!! Sending her hugs. Karen
December 8, 201411 yr You guys are so nice to ask about Alex. She is ok... I think she is starting to get alittle depressed about being cooped up all the time. Last night my son said that he cannot wait until she gets to run around and do whatever she wants again. He says that she is just not the same dog anymore. All in good time...I hope. I am to the point now where I am walking her for 5 minutes... 3 times a day. Next week I get to walk her for 10 Minutes 3 times a day... if she can do it without too much pain. I certainly cannot wait until she is good to go out side by herself without a leash. It is cold as **** outside already and we are only on week 7 of a 16 week recovery. I did give her ...her fat sac (fat sac. = oversized bean bag...see pict) back for her to lay on... so she is better then when she was on the floor. We just want our baby back to the way she was... it has been a long trip for her...with both knees being done.
December 8, 201411 yr Awww Chrispy, poor lil love. She looks proper grumpy :( 7/16 weeks, good lord that's so long!! How is she doing on those 5 min walks...happy, pained etc?
December 8, 201411 yr Awww Chrispy, poor lil love. She looks proper grumpy :( 7/16 weeks, good lord that's so long!! How is she doing on those 5 min walks...happy, pained etc? Usually by the time we start to head back in... she is walking "tripod" style. So I give her an aspirin stuffed in some cheese or ham and back in her pin she goes. 16 weeks is a very long time. The other knee...that I paid double what this one cost... was only 8 weeks and she was back to normal. But I just did not have that money this time. Makes me feel bad... but there are alot of folks out there that would not have put almost $5000 into a rescue dog's knees.
December 8, 201411 yr Author Chrispy.... I actually think she looks a little better than the last pic.... I know she has been through so much... You are a top bloke....you have done the very best you can.... It has been ...and still is a long journey .....well done ....you have shown such patience ,love and understanding.... My best to Alex ...you...and your family.....
