August 27, 201412 yr Hi Gio - welcome aboard I was also one of those a people that lit up as soon as I left the gym or straight after a basketball game - so I know how you feel, but I will share one thing - if you think you are fit now - you will be amazed at what you can achieve when you are smoke free ! Plus the gym can become a safe haven if crave a hit because you can't smoke there - I practically lived at my gym in the early days ! Congrats on a great decision and remember we are here for support if you need it
August 27, 201412 yr Welcome Giopetro :) It's a small world, I'm on the North Shore. You will find keeping busy is a huge help in the beginning. It's common to wonder why we waited so long. Check out the exercise and healthy eating thread, you will find a lot of health conscious people.
August 27, 201412 yr not looking forward to the odd cravings i have been hearing about.. But just the fact that I do not have a pack of cigarettes on me and am totally okay with it is HUGE for me right now. Everyone is different... you might be one of these people who get by with relatively few craves... I would say just embrace the quit, and celebrate that you have had a great journey so far! Good for you for not being tempted when you are drinking - each potential trigger beaten makes you stronger :)
