March 13, 20215 yr This is where you long timers can really help with what you have substituted for a smoke in trigger situations.Ā IE: Jill's smoke free invisible fake none nicotineĀ OK OK I forgot the Name but you all get my drift.Ā Such as That cold foggy morning sitting on the Refuge porch drinking a hot cup of coffee and puffing on my pipe or a cigar, I kindaĀ substituted toast bread to crew on, did it work yes for that one timeĀ looking more towards a cinnamon bread stick next time or a jerky stick cheese sticks work well. Driving I have substituted the VitaminĀ water for a beer and been cold turkey with the smoke was doing sunflower seed but my tongue kept swelling up from the salt.Ā So what have you long timers come up with asĀ substitute and what was the trigger situation ?
March 13, 20215 yr How can you forget my JAC (jillars air cig) when I've talked about how well it worked for me for so long lol. And I thought your go to was sugarfree butterscotch candy?
March 13, 20215 yr Author still all over the sugar free butterscotch ! Ā Edited March 13, 20215 yr by Opah
March 13, 20215 yr Author They robbed you Jill !Ā They call it the Harmless Oxygen cigarette ?Ā have you seen it ?
March 13, 20215 yr Yes @Opah I've seen them. One of our members said she bought one. Imo a cut straw, pen or my invisible one, all free, work just as well. And my invisible one works best because I never had to worry about forgetting where it was š
March 13, 20215 yr I found sugar free gum helped me through the tough times .... Scented baths ...and my trusty I Pod......š
March 13, 20215 yr I always went with Jillar's Air Cigarette (a plastic straw cut to size), That and a cold glass of water or juice always helped me a lot!!!! Edited March 13, 20215 yr by Martian5
March 13, 20215 yr Author My new thingĀ is those Mexican chili suckers with the Lock Jaw sour stuff inside,Ā Ā not sugar free but a killer flavor rush.Ā Ā Ā Edited March 13, 20215 yr by Opah
March 13, 20215 yr Author Take a drag off of one of these babies instead of sniffing it inĀ the nose, Guaranteed you'll have fresh breath and the desire toĀ puff on anything will go away.
March 14, 20215 yr I don't know @Opah it looks like those are nasal inhalers so I wouldn't use it as an air cig....š
March 14, 20215 yr I'm not crazy about cheese but IĀ got obsessively hooked on Cheetos during my quit.Ā Thankfully I got over my addiction with them after my year smoking quit. Ā
March 14, 20215 yr Oh yea, I was obsessed with those soft peppermint puffs and would buy them by the tub the whole first year quitting.Ā
March 14, 20215 yr Author Yes it is that is why you need to keep track of which one you had up your nose, unlessĀ your into bogger/mint flavor!Ā Ā Ā
March 15, 20215 yr Lol I did a lot of eating! peanut butter, chocolate, donuts and, amazingly, alcohol. I don't recommend it. lots of exercising going on now to get the extra weight off...and dieting. if I had to do it again, I would go for water, and those inhalers LOL, and exercise, Oh yes and the JAC
March 16, 20215 yr I think I still have my whiskey jar half full of water and packed with cigarette buts somewhere in my garage.Ā Ā There were a few times I would unscrew the lid and take a big whiff to remind me of what I was missing. I...haven't felt the need of such reminders in quite a while.
