Good, that's not far off.

If you already had a cough prior to today's blood it really could be as simple as a burst surface vessel. The pain can be straining of the intercostal muscles (between the ribs) or pressure from irritation swelling related the coughing. Remember for every worst case scenario there is a best case. Best of luck for the third.

Berkshiredrifter, sounds like you're already doing the right thing in getting checked out.

At this time, your personal experiences are probably playing havoc with your stress levels. It may sound trite, but try not to worry until you have a diagnosis, it probably isn't going to be the worst case outcome.

Little point in wishing what's already done were different, so just to wish you a good outcome on the 3rd.

I'm glad you're still quit Berk :) Best thing you can do for yourself and although we can't change the choices we made in past days, we certainly can shape our own future and you my friend are headed in the right direction! Please let us know what's going on once you get checked out. Best wishes for a good outcome :)

Stuff like that is scary bershire, hopefully its only a chest infection and can be cleared with antibiotics. If the coughing up blood continues I would try to get in sooner than the 3rd, the sooner you get it cleared up the better right?

Well done on three months quit...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
