  1. Im gonna. I have an appointment on the 3rd. Stress test. Also going to report the bloody cough to physician. Hopefully its just bronchitis. But man, I really wish I had not smoked
  2. I am approaching my third month clean from nicotine. I also coughed up blood three times today, and my chest hurts. My mother looked like a wasted skeleton at the end. I dont wanna go out like that.
  3. Still an ex smoker. Work schedule has been intense. I live in the capital, right downtown. My job is weird, recipricocity. Its real weird. Occasionally also exciting. I have motivated two other friends to quit IRL. Its been almost a month. I am not going to lie, I am still getting three to five strong craves a day. I dont mind them. I snack and exercise to cope. My doctor will undoubtedly approve of both the weight gain and the positive shift in attitude. A glimpse of what I get to enjoy as an ex-smoker
  4. That vacation is going to be twice as good, cause you don't smoke now Tyme!
  5. Thank you Octain, Jetblack, Recipricocity, Martian, Doreen, Joel, Boo, Latoya, EVERYONE!!! I could not have quit without you all. Your support has meant everything.
  6. Octain, life doesn't just seem better, it IS better now. Life improved when we quit. Oh what a great decision. I am never ever EVER putting nicotine or tobacco in my body EVER AGAIN.
  7. So 15 days in, the things I have gotten back: I can breathe easier. I can read a book because now, I can sit still long enough. I am now less vulnerable to cold and weather. Anxiety improved. GERD mildly improved Budgeting is easier. I have more time. Blood pressure and heart rate improved, and circulation has definitely improved. My feet dont burn and sting anymore. That is significant. They were hurting a lot. Smoking is terrible for you. If you smoke, quit.
  8. It is incredible how fast your heart rate starts to improve. Your hands get steadier, my feet dont hurt when I walj around anymore. Im not shivering cold in 50f temperatures. I can breathe easier. And its not even two weeks yet.
  9. Quitting was the best thing I ever did. NOPE.
  10. Superman is a hero But only when his mind is clear though He needs that fix like the rest of us So he's got no fear when he saves that bus... Questionable video. Good song.
  11. My previous two quits have ended under identical circumstances at the 90 day mark. Seems to be a "thing" in nicotine recovery. Failure is a rehearsal for success.
  12. http://whyquit.com/joel/Joel_04_10_100_percent.htm Bookmarked to my homescreen on my phone. I just read it to get through a crave. Very straight forward and stark article on how smoking makes you feel like garbage.
  13. I am loving my nicotine and tobacco sobriety. Thank you all for helping me say Not One Puff Ever. If you mean pre surgery, love and prayers!
  14. If Im not too tired from work I believe I am at 148 hours clean. Quite a few cravings today, cue induced. They are getting weaker if not fewer or shorter. I am going to get some extra rest tomorrow and I think I'm going to drop caffeine completely for a while. Maybe that will help my brain chemistry to go back to normal. Im still foggy headed. I still have a slightly detached from reality feeling. I also have more oxygen. Never using nicotine or tobacco ever again. Not one puff ever.
  15. A nicotine trigger feels weird. I just came back to my friends shop with a cup of coffee as is my afternoon norm. No cigarette with this coffee though and that was a solid two or three minutes of emotional weirdness. When was the last time I could enjoy a cup of coffee without a smoke? A long time ago. Man this is nice. Im going to start hitting the gym again if I keep feeling this good.
  16. It is astounding how much I DONT want a cigarette today. Every time I wake up I feel better than I did the day before.
  17. This my daily pledge of NOPE. I am all done with tobacco, and nicotine, and I could not be happier.
  18. I am never putting any nicotine or tobaccoo in my body ever again. Ever. 120 hours clean. It feels amazing. I am never smoking ever again. Still foggy headed and a bit detached. A lot of anxiety earlier. Its ok though. I get to wake up in my own house tomorrow for the first time as an ex smoker.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
