  5. Hi @I can do it Welcome!! Not sure, but if you have any cigarettes in the house, you have to get rid of them! That is a must, you cannot have any temptations around. Quitting smoking is definitely not easy as we all know, but it's totally doable! The good thing is, the longer you stay without a cigarette, the less of an urge you will get. I promise those horrible urges go away in time. What I used for the first couple of months was to take a cinnamon stick and pretend it's a cigarette. I would suck in the air and make believe that I was smoking, plus the cinnamon flavor tasted really nice. If you don't like cinnamon, use cut up straws. Also, drink lots of water and eat healthy foods. Come on this board a lot because you will get amazing support and help from the people on here. I don't think I could have gotten through the early months of my quit without them. In the 15 months that I have been quit, I made a lot of nice friends on here. So please stick around when you get those cravings! Good luck to you!

  15. Yeah it's the same way in Northern NY State too. My oldest son has a friend who used to live in Rouses Point, NY, all the way up by the Canadian border on the way up to Montreal, and she said that it barely was sunny even in the spring and summer months. Not only did the town have mostly cloud cover, it's such a small town that there is barely anything to do.
  16. Ohh that cold raw rain, I hate it. I don't know which is worse, having that or frigid days with tons of snow like we get here in the states. Hmm, maybe the rain is better!

  19. Wow, it really does get chilly in Liverpool this time of year. Sorry to hear that. Do your winters get very cold?

  21. I had to ask Siri what 9 degrees in Fahrenheit is...LOL!! Americans don't do metric. That's chilly for this time of year isn't it Doreen, or is it normally that cool in Sept? @Reciprocity I'm hoping when I am up in Toronto next month, there will be some nice color on the trees. I have a tree in my backyard that turns yellow but it does it late, starting around the middle to the end of Oct. Autumn is my favorite season but I do hate what it leads into.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
