Hi Everyone
Welcome Matt. Congratulations on deciding to quit and joining this wonderful support group. Just read all the information, watch videos and reach out to the members for help. Yes, deep breath - it becomes such a wonderful feeling without the smoke.

What are you doing right now
My goodness - that was a loaded pizza. My husband would have loved that one. I hope your family realizes what a true act of love that was. I kind of feel that way about making my husband liver and onions.

What are you doing right now
Looks good. Looks like double cheese - the way I like it. You are a little to far for an invite so I will just have to imagine how good it is.!

Johnny, so glad you are safe but the pictures you shared showed so much devastation. Hope the rains slow and the power is back up and running soon.

- Can't do this.....
You can do this Parsley. If you just ride it out, you'll find it is just that negative, self esteem crap we have taught ourselves over the years. You are important and we care. Let us be here for you!- Friday 14th September 2018
- Just a little inspirational story on quitting
You all know that I take care of my elderly parents but I also take care of an elderly woman, who is 103 and is such an inspiration to me. When I quit bus driving five years ago, I thought I would be bored with my time, so I signed up at our community center to help the elderly. (I didn't know my parents were going to be such a handful.) I was hooked up with Helen, who is 103 yrs. old, still lives on her own and only needed help with her wash (because her niece did not want her doing stairs to the basement). I also make a couple meals for her each week because she hated the meals on wheels. I love my time with this lady. Listening to her life stories. The main story that inspires me is that she smoked for 62 years and quit when her husband died of lung cancer. 62 years! and back then they did not have filters on those cigarettes. 62 years of putting that crap in her body and she is now 103 and in great shape. So here is hoping that we are here for a long time inspiring others.- Thursday 13th September 2018

- Scared
I use to drive a big school bus and could not do so with panic attacks. I chose to take medication. I take clonazepam a half in the morning and half at night. It does not make me feel groggy and I think by continually taking it, it keeps them at bay. You might talk to your physician.- Scared
My life. Distraction! I get terrible panic attacks. Deep breath. Those deep breaths feel so good when you quit smoking. Don't laugh but I sing to myself (though my husband always asks me what happened to the money for the lessons)? Hang in there, this too shall pass.- Introsucktion

Nope. Will never forget coming home from driving bus at 9:00 in the morning. Turning on the news and watching it unfold. I woke my son and we watched the towers fall together. At first disbelief, then the reality of it all. That somber feeling will never go away.- Tuesday 11th September 2018
- Feeling overwhelmed and of course so close to that smoke
Christa, If I remember correctly, you have also lost a step child. My heart goes out to you and your family. You must be a pillar of strength. I know you are just starting you quit but if we hang together hopefully we will achieve success together. Thanks so much for your words of support.- Feeling overwhelmed and of course so close to that smoke
I do feel pretty amazed I haven't given into that smoke. Brilliant and Strong are pretty big shoes to fill but I am working on it. Happiness will be living the rest of my life smoke free. Thanks so much for all your words of encouragement. You are some pretty amazing people- hurricanes
Praying for all you in her path. I have a nephew in Raleigh. It just seems like there is so much more devastation with the weather than there used to be.- Introsucktion
I also have a history of depression and anxiety with panic attacks. You might check with your physician to see if they can adjust medication during your quit. When you are feeling down, just follow Doreen. She is full of a lot of humor and fun. ? - Can't do this.....
