  5. Glad all went well and happy to have you here. Stay close and you will find support here to get you off the smoking. As for myself, I started my quit over 5 years ago after a long time smoking because of a 9 day stay in the hospital with pneumonia. Look to the future as a non-smoker. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hope to see you hanging out here.
  6. Better days ahead for you both for sure. Keep busy and stay close to the site if it gets too tough. Lots of good folks here.
  7. Congratulations Gus! Almost there to the one year mark. Great job. Best wishes.

  10. Welcome aboard Oslo. Wise decision to quit at a young age. I spent most my life smoking and wish I had done it much earlier. Best wishes and hang in there.
  11. Hang in there Sunshine. Kris said it right. You don`t want to go through this again. It will get better.

  13. Naps are good but keep busy and let yourself be proud of what have already done and what you are striving for. You can beat this and be all the better for it. None of us are special. We just got fed up being a smoker like you have done. Hang in there. Much better days ahead if you do. best wishes.
  14. Big congratulations on the 5 year quit!!!!! best wishes.
  15. Welcome Sunshine! Great place and lots of support as you know. Hope to see you hanging around and kicking the habit. I was a long time smoker and did the cold turkey way. Tough at times but not as bad as I had imagined. Stay strong and hang tough and you can beat this. Best wishes.

  23. Sorry to hear you smoked but encouraged that you came forward and decided to get back on track. We all have our bumps on the quit. Work, stress, worry, relationships, heath concerns, etc. that lead us back to that junkie in our brain telling us that you need to smoke and somehow that will make you feel better. Perhaps, for a moment and then you think what you have tossed aside ( a 30 day quit in your case that is a great start to kicking the habit) for a moments pleasure. S.O.S next time and keep hanging in their. It is the junkie in your head telling you to smoke. Your body is free of the nicotine by 30 days. Best wishes and stay close to the board. Help can be had at these times in the future.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
