Is it your love of Eminem?
  4. @Tara smith, I was glued to the forum for the whole first year of my quit and reached out for support every time I felt I might cave to a crave. This is what I recommend for you too. We will talk you off the ledge if you just let us. Our whole purpose for being here is to help each other quit this insidious habit. I love your plan to tell yourself i love you and you could even go a step further by leaving positive sticky notes on places like your mirrors or doors. Tell the handyman you quit and ask him not to give you anymore cigs no matter what. I used an air cigarette (JAC) for months that REALLY worked at tricking my brain into thinking it was getting the real thing. Just pretend you're holding an actual cig and then go through the motions of "smoking" it. Some people use cut straws, pens, even licorice
  5. @BATBAT you're suppose to crash right before your vacation ENDS not right after it starts Feel better soon! Btw, how's Robin? I mean we know what happened to your bike but what's his excuse?

  18. Ugh @JustinHoot99, sorry to read you gave up that awesome quit you had. Maybe next time you think about caving you log on here and ask for some extra support to keep your quit? It worked really good for me every time I asked. As far as resetting your ticker, you have to delete the old one first BEFORE you make a new one. Otherwise it'll just keep reverting back. @Doreensfree will be by with her frying pan soon I'm sure.

    Lies

Nixter Location: Nebraska Quit Date: 6/7/15 Posted June 27, 2015 · IP So basically what I'm figuring out is that cigarettes and nicotine are big fat liars. For all those years they kept me at their beck and call by making me afraid. I was afraid to quit because I thought I wouldn't be able to have fun without a cig. LIE. I was afraid to quit because I thought it would be too hard. LIE. I was afraid to quit because I thought every day would be like day 1. LIE. I was afraid to quit because I wouldn't be "me" without my smokes. LIE!! I am telling you, I feel more joy at social situations than I ever have!! Why? Because I can concentrate on having fun instead of worrying when I can sneak outside for a cigarette. I physically feel soooo much better already. And I'm also really proud of myself. But I have to be honest and say I'm a little pissed that I was duped for so long. Anyway, I'm so happy to be a non smoker. Thanks for being here for me! About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
