  7. I think guarding our quits is just something that serious quitters naturally do. We know the inherent danger being a nicotine addict. We've seen too many fall back to their slavery to nicotine just because they decided to have 'just one'. I know I have that natural instinct to be protective of what I built through my own quit but I don't really think about it consciously each day. I just do it ... every day. Kind of like getting dressed in the morning. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you newer quitters will end up in the same position if you persevere. A place where protecting your quit just comes naturally to you because you value your freedom from nicotine's control!

  16. I have no doubt you'll be just fine with the lowered dose. It's the mental aspects of smoking that take the real time and effort to get comfortable with and you seem to be doing a great job of that so far. Unravelling all those habitual smokes we attached to things we did day in and day out. That's the thing that takes time & patience to overcome. You're on your way now Gus. You'll do just fine! Your participation in a forum like this helps not only others but by helping others you reinforce your own quit efforts. It really is a win-win!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
