  1. I am feeling very proud that I've started the new year as a non-smoker. This is my longest quit ever and I look forward to the additional days, weeks, months and eventual years of success. Even though I get a craving now and then, I am able to hold strong in my determination to have Not One Puff Ever (NOPE). Thank you to Quit Train and all the other quitters who help me get off to a strong, successful quit. Happy, successful New Year to us all! Deanna
  2. Still Nope-ing. Working on month 4.
  3. Thank you everyone. I'm doing much better now.
  4. I'm trying the invisible cig. If I give it just the right wrist action, I feel quite hoity-toity, darling.
  5. Thank you all for the super encouraging comments. Please know that even when I'm not online, just knowing you are here for me is great support.
  6. I'll try that with my pen. The first week of my quit, I caught myself reaching for the sucker in my mouth like it was a cigarette. It gave me a good laugh. ?
  7. Nothing like a reminder of last year's fires to finally stress me out enough that I'm thinking about smoking. Wind and massive amounts of smoke in the air have got my anxiety on high alert. I will be strong! I Will Be Strong! I WILL BE STRONG!
  8. Nopity, nope, nope. I'm still a quitter.
  9. I posted a celebration and mentioned some things I'd lost because I quit smoking, but I also want to mention what I've gained … the QuitTrain Community. Every has been so very supportive and I know that I can come hang out any time I need support or want to be supportive. THANK YOU ALL! I'm celebrating my losses... My last thought before heading home is no longer "do I need to stop for smokes?" I no longer park in the back lot where the smoking area is; I park in the front lot. I don't have to stand in the cold or rain to enjoy a smoke. OR THIS FREAKY WARM WIND!!!! Sorry I still have issues. I don't worry about not spending money so I always have enough for cigarettes. I don't worry about how I smell. The hand sanitizer in my car is for sanitizing--not smellatizing. I don't need to ask where the smoking area is. Travel time no longer includes a smoke on arrival.

Thanks but I have had to restart my quit. Very happy to see you clocking up the days though.

  12. NOPE. Still going strong..... 12 days and counting!
  13. Congratulations and welcome to the party!
  14. Welcome time4change. My best advice is to take the advice of the elders. Just being present and reading has helped me tremendously.
  15. You are strong and have fought your way through without jeopardizing your relationship with your brother. Sounds like getting it out put you back in control. WAY TO GO!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
