We still have highs in the 80s here so after a trekking a few miles in the backcountry, a dip in the lake feels awesome. Besides, I'm into the whole cold-water immersion thing. Thanks. You have a good one as well.

  3. Congratulations Ruby. You are already reaping the rewards of quitting. Want even more good news? It just gets better as you go. Enjoy the ride and savor the freedom.

Plenty going on this weekend. River Rocks is on. Paddlers, climbers, mountain bikers, hikers, and runners are all out in force this weekend. The head race is tomorrow, I've got some friends that put together a team so we'll check that out for a while. Then do a hike and possible swim at Lula Lake. Registration was full this year by the time I decided I was ready to join, but this time next year I hope to paddle the ChattaJack 31. I can always use a training partner. As for that back row theater action...I can always make time for that kind of frolicking.
  5. Happy Birthday Frez. Have a good one.
  6. Unfortunately, bad action seems imminent for the people of Florida. Particularly those along the "space coast." Matthew is looking like it may cause more damage than Andrew did in 1992. It seems futile but, best wishes and godspeed to all those in the path of this storm.

  9. Wild hogs are crazy. Damn things practically destroyed my campsite and everything in it one time. One was running so hard it rammed its head into the rear bumper of a Ford Bronco causing a substantial dent. Black bears will leave you alone, but there's no reasoning with a wild hog.

-1 That's the red challenge flag. We throw it up to the booth and have the replay official make the call. Since Bakon started this game, that designates him as the official who makes the final call. I trust he'll be objective with his ruling.

Excessive celebration is a personal foul as well. In light of the current situation here, I'm looking for technicalities and loopholes.

I posted minus 17 and we skipped right back to minus 19 then 20. That's a 15-point penalty and loss-of-down for the chicks assessed from the end of the last play.

-17 Suspicious minds. Overt aggression. Is this some of that "cyberbullying" I've been hearing about?

-16 This thread has gotten totally out of hand Doreen. You and the other chicks should take a break from this game. Sometimes, I just care for others too much.

-15 Pushing and shoving? The chicks are making this train a hostile environment.
  20. Welcome Ruby. The ups-and-downs are perfectly normal in those initial days of the quit. Every craving passes and the quit just gets easier with every NOPE! If you keep it simple and remember that the only rule for a successful quit is that you refrain from putting things in your mouth and lighting them on fire...you'll be golden. Yes you can. In fact, you already have. Congratulations, you're a non-smoker now.
  21. An elderly couple is celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary. They are both asked: what are the keys to a long, happy marriage? The woman responds: patience, forgiveness, and understanding. The man responds: AAARGH! THE JAPANESE ARE COMING!
