My mom bought Alex "Footies" for when she goes outside to go to the bathroom... REALLY... She is a f ucking dog... she can't STAND them. Although she is kind of a sissy.... she does not need to f ucking look like it.

I had an appendectomy after being rushed to the hospital for a near bust. My first and only surgery. I remember my mom was a wrecking ball of nerves before and during recovery. My best friend was a nurse on the oncology floor. Side note... how ironic is it that my friend worked on the Cancer floor and was a heavy smoker? His smoking buddy at work... was a respiratory therapist... as Alanis said..."isn't it ironic"? Anyways.... I remember being moved from recovery room to my hospital room. My buddy was there almost imediatley to unhook me.... get me in a wheelchair and then hook me back up to IVs etc etc. He then proceeded to push me out of the room...down the elevator and outside to have a smoke. My mom was PISSED!!! How much of an asshole did smoking make me....a biggin.

Time to get back to the biznack!!!

Beacon...I am with you on this one. I have not spoke of it much on this bored because I did not want to sound like I was bragging...or over confident. I have absolutely NO DESIRE to smoke a ciggarrette. Non... notta... zip... ziltch. It sounds so unappealing to me. My throat...my lungs.. the stink... I have had some stressful "Life" stuff that has got me down and stressed me out.. but smoking does not even come into my mind anymore. I want nothing to do with it... NOTHING!!! There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I will not smoke another ciggie for the rest of my life.... this is not a saying that I tell myself, like NOPE. It is real.... it is awesome. Keep on keepin on... I will.

15 stealing butts out of my friend's dad's ashtrays...nasty. My first cigarette was a nonfiltered Lucky Strike... made me sick... like throw up sick. Why in the world would I continue to do that? I was such a dumbass kid.

I understand your point... it is kind of weird that there are a bunch of "misfit" toys here and we are all tying to quit or help quit. But it works. I held myself accountable to this board (or at that time it was an "the other"). I had soooo many folks trying to help me...I did not want to let them down. They put alot of energy into me...and they did not even know me. That meant alot to me. I also had a quit buddy... her name was SueRose. We PM'd when we were struggling and we shared our hard times...as well as the good times. We both chewed nico gum to quit and we both quit the nico gum at the same time. I did not want to let her down as well. It meant something to me...ya know. They cared...so.. .I cared.

Accountability is a great motivator.

Everytime I got teeth pulled the dentist told me not to smoke or I would get Dry Socket. Everytime I smoked on my way home from said dentist. Everytime I ended up with dry socket... it hurt.
