so when I was a smoker Id always worry dating someone who didnt smoke would suck...always did suck because they didnt like it blah blah... even lived with a boyfriend for quite a while who was a non smoker.  

 

however... I never thought of being a nonsmoker dating a smoker.  so I am pretty into this guy and he smokes...we are going to go out next week.  we have been friends for a couple years and I know he plans on quitting eventually.. I just really like him and dont want to say no just because he smokes.  I havent really hung around smokers on a regular basis since I quit.  well...not when they were smoking... but when I walk by the smoke area at work it makes me gag so Im sure it wouldnt be tempting. 

 

just a weird though.

Just bring some gum with you and offer him a piece, after you take a piece for you, shortly after he has a cigarette.

Yes, I can see where that would be strange.  Maybe you'll be such an inspiration he will quit too?

I know a lot of quitters who have a spouse who have not quit and they seem to do fine with it.  I think after this amount of time you will def think it's gross.

Hmmmmm awkward allright, I don't think I could do that but if I was mad for him it might be different, I just don't think I could stomach smooching him, I'm gagging just thinking about kissing a smoker but my hubby kissed me for about 9 years that I smoked, brave man!!

Go on the date, nothing to lose, see how it goes, if you get butterflies around him then you can't let that go,

maybe he is feeling just as awkward so will be sensitive to you about the smoking and it might just make him quit with you when he sees how awesome you are doing

 

if it feels right with this guy then i say go for it and just go with the flow it might just be the best thing for you both

I think you will not like it after the sheets get dirty. All fun until the uglies bump, then the faults come out. Cant make him quit, and you cant start again, so unless you like the smell, it will get stale.

So he knew I had bad news from doctor and I would be sitting at home all night worrying and probably crying. So he said he was going to pick me up when he got off but I couldn't ask questions about what we were doing. Then he asked if I had eaten and really felt blah and wasn't planning on eating so he said I had to eat something and that we were going to dinner. So he picks me up and we go eat and then we go downtown to the top of a really tall parking garage and he wants me to guess what we are doing but I have no clue. Then he hints around and I find out that it is to watch the sunset. ((I had told him a while ago how much I love sunsets)) he even drove around to find the highest place downtown before coming to get me. Then we played scrabble. It was super fuckiing sweet.

Sooooo... Who won scrabble?!
