Throwing your back out...

Featured Replies

It's horrible when you cannot walk, bend, move at all with two small children. I have my boyfriend helping but he has to work soon. I'm wondering how long before I can move again. I hope everyone had a good weekend nonetheless.

Oh, I can so relate...hope it gets better very soon!

Oh gods! That has happened to me before so I can definitely sympathize. Feel better soon!

I've been going thru the same thing since last week, barely able to walk the block to the grocery store. Of course, this was the same week we had an insane heat wave, while I was trapped sweating in my condo. Oh, and someone upstairs broke their fire sprinkler and flooded 30 suites including mine, so I was surrounded by massive blowers and dehumidifiers that amped up the heat another 10 degrees and sounded like an aircraft hangar. And then the wildfires spread and covered my city in smoke so thick it blotted out the sun and made me feel like I was smoking again!

On the upside, I found some old back pills that were about to expire, and got pretty damn high.

I can give you the number to a great chiropractor. He has the magic touch  :)

(((NI))) xox sympathies for SURE! :(

Dang!!! Glad you found some relief, three advil isn't touching the pain for me. Might have to go to doc if it stays this way much longer. Hoping things start looking up for you even more, soon!

I should be seeing one anyway regularly as I have pretty bad scoliosis. However right now the thought of anything touching my back or stretching me makes me cringe with how sharp the pain is. I hate just laying here like a veggie all day. :P

Have you tried the Icy Hot Tens things? They aren't as good as the chiro's office but they do help.

I bought this and it works great.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I haven't yet but was actually planning on trying icy hot if the pain doesn't let up soon. Tomorrow is day three of this. :/

Oh man. :( I have sciatica so I know how bad it can be. I have used the Icy hot Tens and it did make a bit of difference. They are a little pricey but if it doesn't help you then you can just bring it back.

I hope that you get some relief soon!

Headed to clinic, about to pass out from the pain and no help with my child this evening. It's worse than yesterday. :(

my husband has a tens unit through the pain clinic that is a bit stronger than the icy hot ones they are selling it is covered by insurance. I have used it for a sore shoulder and it works wonders just cant turn it up too high cause it feels freaky lol

Ouch! Back pain is so debilitating! :( I feel for you. I can only imagine what you are going through with having to take care of your kids.

I hope you heal up soon!

The clinic shipped me in and out the other day saying probably just muscle strain, and prescribed muscle relaxers and stronger ibuprofen. I haven't healed yet and still am unable to take care of anything or move much, and the prescriptions barely touch the pain and discomfort. I wonder if it's just that slow to heal or an xray is in order.

Having just come out the other side myself - more or less, I'm still pretty sore - I'd like to suggest something that I think helped me. I also did the ibuprofen/ relaxant route (over the counter leftovers, relaxant was carboximal), but in addition I cleared a spot on the living room floor and did a lot of easy stretching, in particular focussing on the hamstrings. I've often noticed that when my hammies are overly tight, they pull everything else out of alignment. If you try it, please go EASY, and do many repeats spaced out over time. If you want some specific stretches let me know and I'll see if I can post them.

I'd absolutely love to see anything specific if it's not too much trouble. I'm spinning my wheels. :(
