I'm just about ready to announce the little man's name.

Me and Sugar Britches have narrowed the list down to a point where we have unofficially come to a consensus.

Before I make the announcement, I want to make sure the better half is fully on board with our name choice.

And with all due respect to Maddie, we are not naming her baby brother "Dat-Dat."

Jackson Blan.

After much deliberation, Sugar Britches and I reached a final decision.  Jackson was my great-grandfather's name and Blan was Sugar Britches' grandfather's middle name.  We like family names around here.

Of course if little Jackson is like most of the men in my family, he will end up with a nickname that most people call him by.  My mom and dad named me Christopher.  At the hospital my cousin who was two years-old at the time kept pointing at me and calling me "Boo."  The nickname stuck.  My grandfather was dubbed "Corn-Fed" at an early age.  There were people that knew us who had no idea what either of our real names were.

Looking forward to welcoming little mister Jackson into the world.

Love it! What a great name and I'm so glad you went with sugar britches granddads middle name instead of corn fed lol😂

My friend Bullfrog had a son back in February.  Everybody calls him Tadpole...kid never had a chance at holding on to his birth name.

I can relate 😁

Jackson Blan....

Wow !!!....This has got a great ring to it ....I love it ....

Nice.👍

My dad's name was Jack. Just jack. I always assumed they forgot to add the "ass" to his birth certificate.

We are officially in the third trimester now.  Jackson's due date has been narrowed down to April 16.  Right around the corner.

Had a visit with the good doctor yesterday.  Jackson and Sugar Britches are both in great shape.  The better-half is dealing with some swelling issues and her energy levels are less than optimal.  However, following a battery of tests she passed them with flying colors.

Mister Jackson weighs in at 2.2 pounds and measures 15 inches long.  He's a little bitty fella but compared to other babies at the same stage, he is slightly bigger than average.

We've reached the countdown period now and the anticipation is growing.

@Boo Congratulations to you and Sugar Britches, great name!!

Good to hear Sugar Britches and Jackson are in good health and doing well....

He sounds like he's going to be a bonny lad ...

Or though ,for Sugar Britches sake not as big as his daddy was ...

The weeks are flying by ...April will be here soon enough .......exciting .😁

Sugar Britches concurs.

If I had it to do over again, I never would have mentioned the fact that I was the biggest baby born in Bradley County, Tennessee in 1974 to the future mother of my children.

The better-half said: "I just hope he's not a big-headed sumo baby like his daddy was."  Good thing I'm not easily offended.
