Can't I post a pic of something else? There's nothing to see outside my 3rd floor window anyways. Except maybe somebody walking there dog and picking up its %#&*. I'm mean really it's not necessarily the money shot I was hoping for.  :(

So post a pic of something else in your area, like maybe where you go fishing or something?

  • My view is not special but this is the view from my mom's balcony.

  • This is the view from our bedroom this morning:   And this is the same view a couple of evenings ago:

While we wait for Wiley the shark to get a move on, I'll go.

A place near me where I take my bike sometimes.  There was once an estate, it burned down in the 60's.  You can still see bits and pieces of it.   A preservation now.

wow..such diversity and all amazing in there own right!..

The Sarge's view this morning as he's sipping coffee on the back porch of The Homestead.

He used to hang here and smoke cigarettes, but now it's just coffee ... and the occasional bottle of his favorite Irish Whiskey.

(Yeah - fixing that broken fence rail is on his "honey do" list for this weekend ...)

Easy Peasy

You ever throw a hook into that water?

You ever throw a hook into that water?

Sarge doesn't fish much. Doesn't see the point. If he wants to eat fish and catch it himself, he'll toss a net. More efficient.

Everyone else does, though. Friends. Family. Neighborhood kiddies.

There's everything from 1/2 oz. Bluegill to 25 pound Catfish in there.  There are 3 giant grass carp that no one's ever caught, but they look to be as big as a small submarine when they surface to soak up the sun's rays. Occasional couple of pounder large-mouth bass ... and even some 18 inch long goldfish. There's a smaller goldfish pond upstream that spills over into this one occasionally with heavy rains. Ever let a goldfish grow 25 years? Yeah. They get downright HUGE.

Love Lilac - this is my modest garden, with 2 Olive tress, loads of bamboo and, my favourite, my lilac tree:

for s minute when I scrolled down I though when did I take that pic until I looked at the yard I have the same color plus I have white ones I think I am going to dig up some babies from under and expand them in front of the street....I have a lot of lilacs my bushes start at my house and go to almost the street which is about 75 feet about.

  • 3 weeks later...

These are beautiful photos, Ross I love your summer house and Beacon that view is one I would love, am thinking The Golden Girls view. Right up my street.

My view is, to me, both peaceful and relaxing even when the farmer is working the land. I think this view will keep me living here forever to be honest.

Sharon and Action...Your pictures brought up some memories of England....felt a little homesick...HAH homesick...not really my home, it's been years since I've been, but always have fond memories.  My Auntie Eve had an old air raid shelter still in her back garden.  Thanks for the pics and if you ever get to Sheffield, post pics please :)

The view from my house is ordinary - but took this last time we went for a hike in one of our parks about 15 minutes fro home

And this is the view - when you complete the hike up our highest "mountain" - all 700 metres of it ! Also about 15 mins away i

The silence is heaven sent Joe love it so much.

Ross the view sealed the deal on the house purchase to be honest. Protected greenbelt land too, so no housing estate will be popping up any time soon...well not on my watch ;)

Colleen if you ever fancy to trip to the Uk (and yourself Joe) have a spare double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living, more than welcome to use ours as your base to go and explore.

Ordinary ???...I would say..extraordinary!!..spectacular views...What we have come to accept as "normal" and not very exciting, it is completely different that what many of us see..thats why I find this tread amazing...I consider my views as boring since our landscape is so flat...how-ever, I am sure some of you who live in the hills and mountains find it  amazing that anyone would live here..lol (J/K)..

I find each one of these pics anything but ordinary..they all have their own charm!

Love everyones view :)  Mine is houses and more houses.  Post housing on an army base is not to interesting.

Hoping to get a good view in Alaska, fingers crossed.

I'm still working on it.  :)

wow at these views. Chimmneys and a massively overcrowded garden here. Kids toys, Mums perennials and my love of healing plants and herbs go into battle lol.

You have a camera, right? Want to see! It's not about who spent the most money on paying the landscaper, it's about who you are. I love kid's toys interspersed with overgrown flowers and chimneys are just plain cool, I don't know why. Always liked them, though.
