I'm not sure this girl could stand that level of excitement....

Heading out bright and early in the morning to do some fishing, you in?

Here is a very unhelpful tutorial about fly fishing from self-proclaimed expert Hank Patterson.

Boo....Did we catch anything ...????

Eventually.  I should have just slept in Saturday morning.  Nothing hit until afternoon and even then it was slow going until about 2:00 p.m.  Caught a couple of decent size Browns.  The Rainbows were hitting my Stonefly nymph pretty good for a little while.  And I caught a Brook Trout.  He was just a little fella, but you don't typically catch many wild Brookies at Tellico.

The fishing was good.  Spending a day in a beautiful and secluded area was great.

Time to grab your seat in the canoe Doreen.  This will be our last run on the Ocoee in 2019 so we have to make this one count.

Plus, it'll be good to spend some quality time together...

Trout cooked over a campfire, just the right amount of salt and pepper with maybe just a bit too much butter, is some of my favorite eating.  If it can be arranged, you should prepare your fish downwind from the bears.  If a hungry bear decides it wants your fish, not much you can do but take the loss on that one.

The cooler weather should be coming around anytime now.  Good time to do some hiking and climbing.  Right now the creeks are running low and it's too damn hot to do much on dry land.  I'll be glad to see Fall get here.

No big plans this weekend, unless you want to help out with some carpentry work on a project I've got going.

We're definitely not going down to Chattanooga this weekend.  They had a big water main break this morning and Tennessee American just announced they don't have any idea when the water will be back up and running in downtown and the surrounding areas.

It's been hot as blue blazes all week and now they don't have running water...that's one helluva combination.

Did an eight-mile hike and a bit of caving at Virgin Falls this morning.

Thought I would pass that along as I figured Doreen would enjoy the name "Virgin Falls."

Doreen, get your ropes and harness ready.  We're climbing at Denny Cove tomorrow!

And then...keep your ropes and harness handy.  Things could get weird after we're done climbing.

The only thing better than a three-day weekend would be a four-day weekend.

Heading out for Tellico Plains bright and early in the morning.  We're gonna hike the Slickrock and Citico Wilderness Loop and throw in some shorter out-and-back hikes for fishing opportunities and great views.

A long walk in the mountains.  Fly fishing for trout.  Camping near clear mountain streams...Perfect!
