  1. Ohhhh Wow!!!!! Thank you so much Doreen!!!🥰😁 It has been a month already!! Time just flies! Amazing!! Looking back, this past month, it hasn't been that bad, except for the first week to 10 days. The urges are so much less now, almost gone. 😁 Even in the morning when I used to smoke like 2-4 cigarettes in an hour and a half while having my 2 cups of coffee, I don't really get the urges anymore, and the few urges that I do get just pass after like 20 or 30 seconds. So, it's definitely much better!! As I think you know, I have started a walking regime, and I told my husband last week that the walking is much harder for me than quitting smoking, as my legs and feet still hurt a lot! But, I guess, as time goes on, it will get easier (I hope), because right now the pain is giving me no gain! LOL!!! But, I will keep plugging along! Thank you Doreen and everyone else on this forum for helping me to get through this!! You all are great people and it's a privilege to be part of this group!! Thank you so much!!! 🥰🥰
  2. Thanks!! Wow, you had pneumonia from quitting the first time! That must have been horrible! The only symptoms I have had are your basic withdrawal/cravings but they are almost gone now after a month. How are you doing?
  3. I was talking to my cousin and she and her husband had pretty much the same thing last week, so I guess it's something that is going around. At least it didn't last very long.

  5. HI folks, I have a question. Did any of you ever get something called "smoker's flu" and if you did, when in your quit did you get it? This week it felt like I had a cold/flu. All I had was a sore throat for about 3 days and a little bit of a cough, in addition to feeling very tired and achy, but today it's pretty much all gone. Just very weird as I never had a cold like this. So I'm wondering could that have been the "smoker's flu", even though I'm quit for a month, shouldn't it happen after the first few days after quitting? Ohhh a month quit!! Yay!!!😁😁
  6. That is absolutely beautiful!!!! 😁
  7. That is absolutely wonderful!!! 😁 What an accomplishment! You are doing so great!! Yipeee!!! 😁👍
  8. Hi everyone! Today is a little bit of a challenge because of Father's Day. My husband and I have our 2 sons over and my mom and a family friend. We have been having snacks and drinks before dinner, so the urge comes when I drink. I know you all say not to drink when quitting, but it hasn't been that bad, and now that I'm almost quit a month, it has gotten better. I think for me the worst time for the urges is in the morning when I'm having my coffee. But, all these urges don't last that long. They certainly come and go...thankfully!! Anyway, for all you guys that are dads, Happy Father's Day!!😁
  9. How are you doing today Robin and LOF? I hope you are both doing well! It's not easy I know, but we are getting there! 😃
  10. When I did the weaning and was down to 2 a day, I thought I could keep it at that but the cravings were worse than when I actually gave up the smokes. I felt like I was in constant withdrawal all day long, looking for that next cigarette. IMO, it won't help you conquer your cravings at all, you will just be in a constant withdrawal all day long like I was.

  13. Thanks!! You are doing very well also. If you need to use NRT, use it!!! Whatever helps you to quit smoking. We all do what's good for us. It's like, we are all going to the same place, but each of us use different methods, which is perfectly fine! Whatever works for you...and as I said, in the long run we are all going to the same place!😁
  14. Thank you everyone!!! I am quite excited. When my docs office called this morning and I saw them on my caller ID, I got very nervous, but when she told me all the good news, I was totally ecstatic. Today was a very good day!!😁 @robin0212 and @LeapOfFaith the two of you can do this, hands down!!! Believe me, if I can quit, you can as well!! I am a big baby with no willpower, so I guess I'm doing something right and you can too!!!😁
  15. I got my blood test results back today and my blood sugar and cholesterol have come down a lot too!! 😁I really believe it's from quitting smoking and doing my walking!! I'm still prediabetic, but at the lower end. My A1C is 5.8 and normal is 5.6 so hopefully the next time I have my blood tested, it will be below 5.6.
