  1. I know you can do it LOF! We all have. I'm only smoke free for a little over a month and I have survived...LOL!! The first week was bad, I will be honest, but most of the time I was not climbing the walls. I had a few meltdowns but then I would come on here and everyone would help me through it. You can do it!!! I know that first one in the morning was the most difficult. I would be having my coffee, sitting by my computer and then I would go and smoke. But I got through it and it's really not too bad now. The longer you go without a cigarette, the easier it will become. At first I would think of smoking every single minute of the day, now I don't think about it nearly as much, it keeps getting less and less. When I do get a craving they don't last more than a few seconds. If you need the lozenges when you get out of bed, use them. Whatever will help you!! 😃

  4. Thanks Jill!! 😁
  5. Thank you Garry!😁
  6. Thanks!! 😁 Yup, still walking which is harder than quitting smoking. Go figure!🤔
  7. It will definitely get easier. The first 2 weeks are the hardest, at least that is how it was for me.
  8. Thanks Mac!! 😁 Thank you Denali!! I am quite pleased about it as well. 😁 Thank you so much!!! Ohh yeah, Next time I do my food shopping I'm gonna go out and buy some of that!!! 😁
  9. That is so great!!! A week is an amazing start, and I'm not that far ahead of you!! You are doing great Robin!!! I know it's tiring. I don't want to pry, but do you work or are you retired? I'm retired but I have a husband who works and I have two grown sons, one who is gonna be 35 in a couple of months who lives on his own, and the other one who just turned 30 in April and still lives with us, so I still have a lot to do around here. If you have young kids, and I remember when my kids were young, we were always busy, so that would be an easy time to quit. Actually no matter if you are young, middle aged, retired, senior citizen or a hundred years old, quitting smoking is not easy!!! It's an addiction and at any age the addiction is hard!! You are doing great!!!🥰😁👍
  10. Thanks so much Gus!!😁 I do need to reward myself but with what? I don't want to eat fattening foods since I'm trying to lose weight. Any ideas of what to reward myself? What did you reward yourself after a month?
  11. Thank you Johnny!!! 😁
  12. Ohhhh Wow!!!!! Thank you so much Doreen!!!🥰😁 It has been a month already!! Time just flies! Amazing!! Looking back, this past month, it hasn't been that bad, except for the first week to 10 days. The urges are so much less now, almost gone. 😁 Even in the morning when I used to smoke like 2-4 cigarettes in an hour and a half while having my 2 cups of coffee, I don't really get the urges anymore, and the few urges that I do get just pass after like 20 or 30 seconds. So, it's definitely much better!! As I think you know, I have started a walking regime, and I told my husband last week that the walking is much harder for me than quitting smoking, as my legs and feet still hurt a lot! But, I guess, as time goes on, it will get easier (I hope), because right now the pain is giving me no gain! LOL!!! But, I will keep plugging along! Thank you Doreen and everyone else on this forum for helping me to get through this!! You all are great people and it's a privilege to be part of this group!! Thank you so much!!! 🥰🥰
  13. Thanks!! Wow, you had pneumonia from quitting the first time! That must have been horrible! The only symptoms I have had are your basic withdrawal/cravings but they are almost gone now after a month. How are you doing?
  14. I was talking to my cousin and she and her husband had pretty much the same thing last week, so I guess it's something that is going around. At least it didn't last very long.

  16. HI folks, I have a question. Did any of you ever get something called "smoker's flu" and if you did, when in your quit did you get it? This week it felt like I had a cold/flu. All I had was a sore throat for about 3 days and a little bit of a cough, in addition to feeling very tired and achy, but today it's pretty much all gone. Just very weird as I never had a cold like this. So I'm wondering could that have been the "smoker's flu", even though I'm quit for a month, shouldn't it happen after the first few days after quitting? Ohhh a month quit!! Yay!!!😁😁
