  4. I am sorry that you are having a tough time. Smoking was a go-to stress response for us for decades, so it’s natural for the desire to arise again when we’re angry, anxious or sad. But protect that precious quit anyway! Smoking never fixed a relationship problem. (In fact, just the opposite… I think it can impede our ability to heal from being hurt.) Your quit is a positive thing all your own that you can hold onto when other things seem grim. Hang in there! KTQ!
  5. We won’t give up on you, Darcy… don’t YOU give up, either! Please don’t surrender to the feelings of futility or despair. Addiction warps our self perceptions, and those feelings are not actually facts. You are stronger than you think, and there is sweetness on the other side, if you give yourself the chance to get there. You do need to ride out a bunch of crap at the beginning. But then it gets better. Tomorrow’s a new day!

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
