  13. Welcome @Mac#23 thanks for joining the club with us.
  14. Yesterday when I read this post. I couldn't think of one thing I liked about being smokefree. I was irritable, and just generally in a pissy mood. Today however. I like that I don't have to worry about how I smell, if my teeth and fingers are turning yellow. I don't know if you guys noticed, but I had like this strange yellowing that was staining my fingers. It took me a minute of just scrubbing it to get it off, but I didn't like that so I am liking that I am no longer yellow and stained with nicotine. I am also glad that I don't have worry about burning my house down because I fell asleep with a cigarette. Because we all know it could happen. So I am just glad to be a non-smoker. I am just glad to not be chained. I could go on probably for days, but I will just say that for the first time in a few days I can say I am happy about it. I am not going to lie, there for a couple days I couldn't figure out why I was going through all this for. The only thing that kept me going, was A) I worked to hard to get to a month smoke-free and didn't want to throw that away B) I had made my daily pledge to not smoke and I did it each and every day. irritability or not. C) I also kept really close to not only the SOS board, by my personal SOS and I just took it easy. I kept my quit because I didn't want to let myself, or you guys down. So thank you for listening, I am glad that I am smoke-free and I am also glad that I took the yearly pledge. Nana
  15. Congratulations on being smoke-free for 7 years. You are a true inspiration. I know we can aspire to be where you are. We just have to stay on the train.
  16. I was thinking that maybe we could do a roll call each month. I can take this one and we can all just post one each month. I also figure we could do this until the last of us newbies hit our 1 year mark. So who will do this with me? Who wants to volunteer to do August? We don't have to start a new one we can just bump this one up and we can keep it in one post. I will start this off. Hey guys, I am here and on day 33. I have found that the last couple of days have been tough, but then again we did just have a holiday that use to involve lots of drinking and lots of smoking. So it is no wonder why it has been a struggle the last couple of days. Plus you add the stress I am under and It is no wonder. I have stayed near the board and had a post already typed up in the SOS board in case I needed it. But today I woke up and wasn't so irritable that I could bite someones head off and spit it out. So yeah here I am. I am on day 33 and still smoke free. How are Y'all?
  17. just for today I will pledge N.O.P.E. I promise to just take today as it comes. If I need to take it slow I will. But so far today has been better than the last couple of days.
  18. Welcome to the board Michael. We have a great bunch of people here. They will help you through tough times and have help save a many quit. Mine included. SO like everyone said WELCOME and know that we are all here for you
  19. NOPE!!! I will not smoke today...
  20. I am so glad that you had a great weekend. I am so super happy that you were able to go do this weekend without any urges or craves. Whatever the reason is don't examine it to hard just enjoy the freedom...
  21. So as my one month comes and goes. I have decided that I did it for a month. I did it by coming here and staying close to the board when I did not trust myself. So I am ready to commit for a year. I figure if I commit to the whole year then I will need to stay near the board. I will still check in daily and pledge my NOPE each an everyday. TODAY however, I pledge to be smoke-free for a year. I pledge to come here when I am having difficult times and even when I am not. I pledge to help others to the best of my ability, because honestly it does help. I pledge to go through emotional, life-changing, best decision ever and I will come here and share all the ups and the downs. I pledge that if I am ever in need I will post and S.O.S. and let this board pull me through, I pledge that for this year I will do everything in my power to beat this addiction. I know with the support of my family, and the support I get here that I can beat this addiction. So guys where's a chair and can someone pass me a cold one as I am hear for the long run...
  22. NOPE!!! Not today you evil evil demon stick....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
