Celebrating my first week without cigarettes !!

@StewieTech Thanks for the reply , I am not using the forum much these days . Keeping the internet activity to a minimum I have loads of assignments to finish for the 5th semester distance education course , bit stressed out . So staying away from the PC too Have fun everyone
  3. I got banned twice for trolling like activity , no warnings , nothing I was not even sure why i was banned 2 times without any reasons The other reason is i searched really hard but i could not find any smoke quitting related forums . I have a request , Can i please keep this one account for myself ? I am not trolling , its probably some communication issue as English is not my first language .
  4. @reciprocity , @notsmokinjo I am doing alright , some mood swings and i am trying to keep the PC usage to a minimal The only issues is when i run out of nicotine gums at night Thanks for the suggestions too I tried reading some children book at night , it was not that bad . Must get some books related to history , civilizations and religions .Those books are my favorite Old name is back too Thanks for all the reply
  5. @reciprocity Thanks for the reply 13 days and holding strong . I ran out of gums yesterday night , that is why the strange difficulty and craving . Woke up in the morning , went out and bought a pack of gums and ate one .Feels normal again Now that i think about yesterdays craving it was a bit weak compared to older ones . I think the cravings will get weaker and weaker as time passes . I almost gave up yesterday . Its so important to sit in a silent place when you have lots of cravings , another point learned
  6. @jillar I have no idea why every evening at the exact same time , between 7 and 9 , i have to go through hell I have no idea how i manage myself to get out of that urge to smoke . I got out of it again somehow , 12 days without smoking and i still do not know why i have so much cravings for a cigarette at these times . It must be the gums , but i chew gums to kill some boredom when i stare into the computer screen and forums . All these cravings leave if i give it enough time , and that time is not an hour or 2 . It takes at least 3 hours for me to feel better Anyway still continuously fighting addiction even after 12 days . Is this even normal ? I really thought it would go away after a week
  7. 11 days 9 hours and i still have not smoked a single cigarette . Today i had a very unusually strong urge to smoke in the evening but somehow managed to do a triple jump and avoided it . I am so proud of myself for avoiding that even though i was struggling a lot God , i know it will go away if you stay strong , sometimes you have to stay very very strong to avoid cigarettes That is all .

@StewieTech , Thanks for the reply ... Here is the answer , lol Metallica - No Leaf Clover , i reversed the text in a little application , lol [Verse 1] And it feels right this time On this crash course with the big time Pay no mind to the distant thunder New day fills his head with wonder, boy Says it feels right this time Turned it around and found the right line Good day to be alive, Sir Good day to be alive, he said [Chorus] Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel Is just a freight train coming your way Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel Is just the freight train coming your way [Verse 2] Doesn't it feel right like this All the pieces fall to his wish Sucker for that quick reward boy Sucker for that quick reward they said [Chorus] Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel Is just a freight train coming your way Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel Is just the freight train coming your way It's coming your way It's coming your way [Guitar Solo] [Chorus] Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel Is just a freight train coming your way Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel Is just the freight train coming your way It must be the gums , i think i am a nicotine gum addict now , 9 days and 13 hours without smoking . Celebrating my first week without cigarettes !!

@jillar , Found an awesome article online I think everyone trying to quit should read this . Focusing on the Important Stuff in an Age of Distraction In a world saturated with social media and unlimited interruptions, many of us struggle to focus on what’s in front of us. With so many voices vying for attention, it’s hard to know what’s worth our time https://goinswriter.com/distraction/
  12. Thanks for the reply WeegieWoman , I was reading this right now , I hope it helps you too Focusing on the Important Stuff in an Age of Distraction In a world saturated with social media and unlimited interruptions, many of us struggle to focus on what’s in front of us. I think being out of focus is a major part of everyday life . You know , times when you are not able to focus on anything specific . I always have this feeling that when you smoke it puts you back on focus quickly . Maybe i should try some meditation techniques , in that way if i do not have anything specific to focus on , at least i can focus on my breathing part . One more important point added , do not try to overcome the everyday out of focus issues with smoking . 9th successful day without smoking . Sometimes the inability to focus is making me thinking about smoking again . But i am not going to smoke . "You need to work to strengthen your 'focus muscle' and figure out what is distracting you "

Celebrating my first week without cigarettes !!

The evening hyper mental times aside i am feeling great One week over and the pull of the brain for a cigarette is still strong I really thought all the cravings would go away after a week . It could be again one of these issues , H.A.L.T. (Hungry,Angry,Lonely,Tired) I am feeling lonely tired and therefore angry too . I am also trying to avoid too much computer usage at night times Thanks for all the support
  15. @WeegieWoman , I will get the books from the second hand book store , there are plenty of it here . I want to read something that is written in my own language , lol Usually i get the English books from amazon.com I like religion and history related books , so i will try to get a few books like that Sitting alone and spending too much time doing nothing makes me a bit mental Yes , feeling awesome about getting past the 1 week mark Smoking kills , you simply have to keep that point in the mind , that is all @Joe7 Thanks
  16. @notsmokinjo , @Lilly , @reciprocity First of all , Thanks for all the support everyone . I week and 11 hours to be precise .There was a little error in the sig , sorry about that . More than one week over and i still have a bit of mental feeling the evenings . I feel a bit mental when i run out of my gums , lol I am not sure if it is smoke related or some other issues dealing with house related issues . I thought the strength of the cravings goes away after a week It is not there in the morning It is not there in the noon I still crave a lot for a smoke in the evenings But i am never buying cigarettes . The best thing to do is to stay away from the computers in the evening and try to do something else like reading a book I should buy some good books to read , i almost have no good books to read with me right now I love history related books , must buy a few books soon
  17. @notsmokinjo , @reciprocity , @Lilly First of all thanks for all the replies . I have tried cold turkey way at least 5 times before , the side effect was that my brain activity was way too hyper for me to handle . I knew that my brain was craving for nicotine and i had a very hard time controlling it all the time . There was extremely fresh times when i avoided smoking , But that never lasted too much time . After 2 hours of freshness the cravings was back , so cold turkey method was not exactly working for me . Then i myself discovered these nicotine gums myself , nobody told me to use a nicotine gum instead of smoking . In the beginning i used to eat the nicotine gums a lot , but nowadays its very less . Avoiding smoking 100% and becoming clean suddenly is a bit unusually hard for a long term chain smoker like me . So i had to rely on these gums . The good thing about the gums is that its a really effective method . The gum manufacturer says about a 12 week plan 1st week - 12 gums per day 12th week - 1 gum per day But it does not take that much amount of gums to stop smoking . I have only ate 18 or 19 gums since my quit . No smoke or other toxic gases has gone in since i started chewing these gums which is a huge advantage . I think that dense cloud of smoke related thought has gone away from my life . I can clearly think about a lot more other interesting things to do . I have been very happy and fresh since the past 1 week .
  18. @WeegieWoman , @Lilly Yes for the 1 millionth time i find it impossible to stay away from smoking without the nicotine gums . Today went out and drank three bottles of beer when i was had a strong craving . And i did not smoke too . So it was an awesome day . The nicotine gum has the right amount of stuff in it to stop the cravings and it is an amazing and must have tool for anyone trying to quit I think i only ate 3 nicotine gums today .I am chewing the third one as i type this ,lol Wow , i feel good about not smoking and i am very happy to quit properly before Christmas and new year I am never going to touch cigarettes till the end of my life That is the plan
  19. @Lilly Yes i am going to continue using the gums Mostly going through this these days ... Hungry, Angry, Lonely , Tired + Bored Drinking a tea and trying to think of something to do ...

@P2PLeon All you need is a proper week away from smoking Then you can see that the cloud of smoking related thoughts slowly moving away from your life After that goes away you are probably thinking of other things to do . That you might have to figure out for yourself Its up to you to decide how you want to slowly bring your smoking habit to a halt I have never used a vaping machine , But i think all these types of inhaling unwanted stuffs will harm your mind and your body in the long run . Try to fight the addiction , after all these days without smoking i still have cravings for a cigarette . I even love a smoke right now . But why i decided to stay away is because it has been ruining my health a lot If you keep the vaping equipment's by your side , you will never be able to quit . Try to keep it away or put it in the trash bin .
  21. @Lilly , @reciprocity Since this is my 5th time trying to quit after three years of smoking i have learned a lot from my past mistakes . This quit is still going strong and this time i threw away cigarettes forever . I am never going to touch this thing in my life ever again . I want to have a normal death , lol .Not a disease prone one I have heard news about death related to cancer at least 3 times during these three years of smoking . Every time it scared the crap out of me . I thought my smoking habit was a bit new compared to many other people , but i am done because i am scared of cancer to be honest . The cravings come and go . i usually used to smoke from early in the morning , after half an hour from the waking up time .It was fun , but that made me tired the whole day Nowadays i wake up early in the morning and relax 2 or 3 hours before i go to work . Therefore i have time to get fresh , that is how this whole quitting journey re started . Nowadays the only problems are the evening when i come back after work , too tired , dull and the climate is still warm here . But that goes away too if i rest for 2 or 3 hours then i feel very fresh again I have learned and conquered that cycle . That is how my work cycle goes . I think its important to narrow down your fresh feeling times and dull feeling times . I was very vulnerable during my dull times . Anyway i have learned to avoid smoking somehow and for me the nicotine gums have played a major role in helping me avoiding inhaling the toxic smokes . Everyone new to quitting should seriously try the nicotine gums . It helps a lot . I will throw away the gums too maybe in a week or 2 . Thanks for all the support
  22. @Lilly , @Jet Black Sometimes when i stay away from cigarette my head feels a bit mental I have learned a few things from my last quit which lasted for 7 days I have not bought any cigarettes since the last 10 days , i think it is very important not to buy or keep any cigarettes with you if you are serious about quitting For me the craving is still there especially in the evening after 6 to 10 ... After that i do not think much about cigarettes . Anyway life for me for the past couple of days is like As Freud said, "Love and work..work and love..what else is there really?"

@P2PLeon I do not know why you have to make vaping or smoking into a habit ? Both are like very bad habits I have avoided smoking since the last few days The time i crave the most is mostly in the evening after 6 to 9 or 10 . my head pretty close gets to mental without cigarettes . when the insanity reaches my own limit i eat a nicotine gum and then it goes away , then i feel normal Staying away from vaping and smoking i am sure makes you a better person a healthy person and a stronger person . Smoking used to make me weak , tired , dull and an energy drained person That cycle is there with or without cigarettes . So seriously try to stay away from vaping and smoking cigarettes . Put a little bit more effort for that everyday .Its worth it . That is why Then you do not have to worry about unnecessary diseases in the future .
  24. @Lilly I hate smoking to be honest . But i have some anger issues all the time whenever i try to quit smoking I become angry easily whenever i try to stay away from smoking It is like my brain is vibrating really fast if i do not give it cigarettes .I have no idea how to calm myself down sometimes And all these anger goes away as soon as i eat a nicotine gum .This is very weird , lol I have been drinking a lot of types of herbal drinks in warm water .It can be easily made with stuff available in your kitchen . It is supposed to flush the toxins out of ones body I hope it is playing its part too . Because i am very sure there is massive amount of toxins in my body from the past three years of smoking . My god , i never thought cigarettes would be this addictive .
  25. @Lilly Thanks for the reply Lilly I feel a lot more fresh at work , my face and my skin feels better too , lol I don't know why sometimes i feel like ruining it again . I have made chewing nicotine gums a habit Therefore easily fighting the cravings
