  23. I almost never remember my dreams. I used the patch to help me quit smoking this time around and one of the side effects is vivid dreams. I don't know if this contributed to the dreams but I wore the patch 24/7 with the only exception being when I showered. I thought the dreams were really cool, so life like. I did smoke in some of them which didn't really bother me because they were only dreams. I also spent time with my parents who are no longer with us. I cried when I woke up from those dreams because I wished that they were true. Regarding your question of whether the smoking dreams will stop, I don't think we have any control over what we dream about. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the dreams. What is happening while you are awake? Do you romance the cigarette? Do feel like you're missing out on something? Do you think you're at risk of going back to smoking? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, you definitely need to work on your mindset!
  24. I believe that we have to work on mindset as non-smokers. We must truly believe to our core that smoking does nothing for us. When we get to this point, there is nothing to worry about if we have a smoking dream or a random smoking thought.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
