  1. Very well done Oldy, one year is a true achievement. Know from the other board that you're having a difficult time at the moment so hope this milestone can be a positive thing for you. And hoping things get better soon. Hugs.
  2. Well done on not smoking Kate, stick with it and remind yourself of the reasons you want to quit.
  3. So sorry for your loss, Kate. Something i read or heard somewhere that i found reassuring at the start of my quit was "nothing bad will happen if you don't smoke", i suppose it's linked to the anxiety of stopping smoking, similar to what you said about your ticker making you panicky. And i think it's true that smoking causes anxiety too. I really hope you stick with your quit and stay here for support as it is a great place
  4. Well done, Fab, nearly at the year mark, brilliant!
  5. Belated congratulations Gabes, well done!
  6. Belated congratulations Rory, see you on the lido deck!
  7. Belated congratulation Martian, see you on the lido deck!
  8. Well done Jay, keep going forward, 5 months is great
  9. Bit belated Jo, but congratulations...one year is fantastic, hope there was a big celebration
  10. Thank you everyone for the kind words and encouragement, as always very much appreicated. I haven't been here for a while but am still smoke free and aiming for that one year mark. It's not been easy and those smoking thoughts persist, which i'm a bit disappointed about to be honest, but I just don't act on them. Thanks again

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
