  4. Soo..just went and put the plug in the bathroom sink, filled it up and the pulled the plug to observe the direction the water drained. It drained CLOCKWISE. So I went an flushed the dunny....our toilets don't swirl when ya flush em.....so I asked Madam Google and I now know a shit ton more than I ever did about the Coriolis effect...but no idea about water going down drains.....I like to believe the science source I read that said it's both...it just depends on the physicality of the sink and the plug hole. RANDOM THOUGHT - why did I spend an hour of my Saturday morning confirming to my family I am a bit more than slightly insane.

  11. Sometimes a singer and a song writer is more than just an entertainter.....Archie Roach was an elder, a leader, a teacher and an example for all that regardless of the crap you get dealt and the hardships you face your life is always what you make it and you can rise above, but more importantly bring others with you. My favourite Aystralian of the year your passing is way to soon but your music will forever be the soundtrack of my life. VALE ARCHIE! And the last song...

  17. I had an app on my phone that would send me little reward sms... it's 1 hour since you smoke..as the awards went further, the messages would come with updates about what changes to my body/health I had achieved. It also had a memory match game that was timed. By the time the timer ran out the crave was gone. Um...I played all the games, who can forget a whole page of boobies. I stirred the shit. I played hours of minesweeper. NOPE was a big thing for me....I mean I'd pledge it publicly to one and all...made it harder to cave to the crave. I used nrt chewies...plus they got me through some tough times...negative, they prolonged the whole withdrawal stage and craves...if I had the time over would I use them again?...probably. For me, I needed the psychological crutch they provided...I do think my approach, which was to make the gap between chewies longer each time and to have a normal chewie every second time, meant I wasn't substituting 1 addiction for another....nrt is not for everyone...it certainly isn't the cure all..but for me it was a tool that contributed to my success. Sovereign Hill Raspberry Drops....for those not from the great land diwn under or lucky enough to have visited our wonderful tourist attraction Soveriegn Hill, these are the greatest lollies (candies/sweets) ever. They are a hard boiled Raspberry flavoured lolly which I would suck during a crave...not overly sweet with a slight sour kick, not unlike a real Raspberry, these things were my reward.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
