  5. Welcome Kris! There seem to be so very many possible quit symptoms and as said above every person will be different in how they experience quitting. I would suggest spending all the time you can spare in reading about the addiction - the stickies found at the top of this Discussions page is an excellent place to start. Education is key for us to be able to succeed at this. You can learn there much about potential symptoms and how to overcome them. But it is very possible to succeed! Withdrawal symptoms are temporary. Living life smoke free is permanent.....and awesome.
  6. That was too cute! And cautionary. Thanks Catlover.
  7. My motivations to stay quit: - I was on my way to an oxygen tank. What a ridiculous way to live when I have the power to defeat that possibility. This was my main motivation to quit in the first place: I finally got angry enough about this to do something about it. - My self esteem is now all entwined with quitting. If I ever gave in now I wouldn't be able to live with myself. The fact that I successfully quit makes me feel good about myself. - And joyful. Some days I can actually feel joy about my breathing and my discipline and my release from the slavery and my new daily exercise routine, that came about solely from quitting. - and $1000.00/year money in my pocket ain't too shabby a reason either. Thanks for the post Sazerac. It's a great reminder and motivator.
  8. Good morning. Making my first Quit Train NOPE pledge: I pledge NOPE today.

  10. You are an inspiration on this board PeaceTrain (evident even to just a lurker like me!) Congratulations on reaching 9 months of smobriety.
  11. Well done Albert, two months is fantastic work! Congratulations.
  12. All I have to remember - for the rest of my life - is NOPE. I stay close to my "quit smoking forum/support group" (thanks! QuitTrain for taking us in) just so that I never forget that one simple thing. (My BFF is injured and in a sling right now and asked me to "light one" for her just this week. It horrified me that I was halfway to doing it - you know, I was only thinking to help her out - before I realized what I was doing! NOPE. I must remember I can't take that chance. Ever.)
