Yes my boss is being evacuated we hold the fort here in NY Long Island while he enjoys (well except for Irma) the fancy life working from the Keys. Very scary all the poor little islands in the way.
  2. Welcome Kad657 hope you stay awhile.
  3. Our own minds can be our worst enemy anything we fixate on will become an obsession whether good or bad. We can't plan our entire future sometimes I can't even plan what's for dinner and that is ok. Life would be so so boring if we had it all pre-planned. Go with some of the suggestions here. Distractions, exercise that is the biggest motivator. I played handball on Friday and was pleasantly surprised the stamina I had which was a good reminder why being a non smoker is better..
  4. Yeah how exciting Congrats Jackie
  5. Big congrats I too have been away from machines. which isn't a bad thing. Happy Dance for you :)
  6. I think since the time my son was born they really did much more to educated kids. Is it enough who knows. We knew drugs were bad for you yet tried them anyway. I was paying $12.50 when I was smoking. I know some older folks that tell me stories they quit when cigarettes went to over a $1.00 that cracks me up. I do recall as a kid my mom would give me 65 cents to go to the candy store and buy her cigarettes she smoked kool back then. Now that seems crazy but it wasn't frowned upon 30+ years ago.
  7. Oh travel is a wonderful thing when you don't smoke! It is so so so less stressful. I am still greatly exciting by being at concerts and not smoking cigarettes anyway it still blows my mind. I don't gamble but I am sure you will have a great time other than the smell LOL

  16. Very sorry. Dementia is claiming my grandma she is 98 and we take turns regularly visiting the nursing home. she talks to her imaginary friends and swears her bed mate speaks French. She can't chew either anymore. She never drank or smoked drove or swam. Sometimes when I leave her (at least she still recognizes us) I think it can be a blessing or a curse longevity. Glad you shared it was important to you or you wouldn't have. May she rest in peace Amen
