  10. Yep, this isn't what Ok. I saw that. but, I don't like the way it shows up on the front page I am confused and can't articulate well. Let me give it some thought. Thanks SueBeDoo you are a marvel
  11. I have done all that but, still see no place for comments.
  12. I am right with you MQ. Still, the subject remains more contentious than with other NRT's and I would like it to be open for discussion.
  13. I don't want to discuss it here, chrys. I would like it to be a topic for a weekly discussion
  14. With the invention of Electronic Cigaretts, there are a slew of non smoking Nicotine addicts. Some will maintain their addiction. Some will want to quit Nicotine and others will quit nicotine and still vape (like Nay Nay). ECigs have been a contentious subject on many boards and with many people but, I think we need to address the reality and learn how we can help people deal with the Vaping side of Nicotine addiction. I know ECigs haven't been 'approved' as an NRT but, that doesn't stop people from using them as an NRT. (and I never gave a rat's a s s what was 'approved' or not approved) Perhaps, in the not so distant future, it will be the 'vapers' along with a dwindling amount of 'smokers' that we can help with Nicotine addiction. I would like to educate myself further about this and make them welcome here. Thoughts ?
  15. I wish we could have comments and conversations on the profile page. A 'howdy do' every now and then would be cheering and not as involved or private as a pm

-5 sorry about that tube, Doll. My grandmother would stick a clove of garlic in my ear.
  20. Yep. I owe my quit to Me ! It is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have many to thank for my education like Joel and Alan and all y'all by reading on the boards. But, it was my idea out of the blue to try to quit smoking.

  23. I was really resistant to 'pledging' or committing to ANYTHING, . It felt silly and ridiculous. When I learned the truth about nicotine addiction , the truth about MY ADDICTION, I realized I HAD to commit to myself and my quit if I truly wanted to Be Free. The TRUTH was that I could NEVER have another puff . I tentatively whispered NOPE to myself and that small voice became louder and stronger and helped break down my resistance, NOPE helped to harden my resolve and helped me to understand my addiction. I know you can 'NOPE' in different ways...it may be semantics but, for me, NOPE is neat and tidy and convenient and ALWAYS True.. eta: The 'ever' part of NOPE has been most instructive and thought provoking to me. The never forever part that hangs people up. It hung me up too. I had to really accept the truth about addiction. I am an addict FOREVER and that can't be changed. I can handle not smoking day by day or hour by hour and living in The Now but, I am an addict forever and ever.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
