  1. Congratulations on 7 months smoke free @GonSo Great job
  2. Congrratulations on 5 months smoke free @SD2026 Great job!
  3. Congratulations on approaching one month nicotine free. Prior to quitting for good, I switched over to vaping for a while. I started getting headaches and feeling really off, worse than I felt with cigarettes. I don't know for a fact, but I really think I was consuming far more nicotine through vaping. It is best to leave both the cigarettes and vapes behind and live a nicotine free life. Keep up the great work.
  4. Congratulations on 10 years smoke free, Wayne. Great job!
  5. Welcome back @Stewbum and sorry to hear about your relapse but you have had good success in starting quits in the past. The key is sticking with it acknowledging to yourself that smoking is not an option, and reach out for help as you need it (like you are doing now). It is great to have you back here but under sad circumstances. You need to adhere to staying smoke free for good. It is very doable.
  6. Great job @Patrick H Congratulations!
  7. She had respiratory issues for quite some time as a result of smoking. She was going to the doctor for a long time regarding her health issues. I didn't realize how bad it was but one day she stopped posting, and she was one of the most active people here. Eventually we found out that she had passed away. She quit a little over a year after I did and was a big reason why I stuck around quit sites (this one and QSMB). She devoted a lot to helping others as well as being a lot of fun at the same time. It is really sad and she is definitely missed.
  8. I agree that you are stronger. I relapsed several times before quitting. A lot of us probably did. But we kept trying. Quitting smoking will greatly improve your life, just believe that, even if the early days are rough. Sorry I haven't read and participated in your intro thread that closely (New and wondering...) but all the advice you got there is correct. You will be far better off once you get smokes out of your life.
  9. Congratulations on 3 years smoke free @QuittingGirl and thanks for the great job you are doing as moderator. Celebrate today

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
