Things backfired. I became suicidal and took an overdose have an appointment with my therapist today and Friday with my psychiatrist on medication. I just can't cope anymore with the inner pain will be smoking till Friday evening. Just wanted to let you all know I'm still fighting but it's hard

So sorry Evelyn, can't imagine the turmoil your mind must be going through.

Good to read that you have an appointment today, I hope it goes well and will be thinking of you.

Maybe it might be a good idea to get your mind 'up straight' then deal with stopping smoking? Your therapist will know best on that score. Hope it goes well.

I agree with Sharon Evelyn I think you need to deal with your grief first and be in a better place before your quit to give yourself the best chance, normally I would never say that but in your circumstances I feel this would be best.

I am so sorry you are going through what your are but with the right help you can and will come through the other side

You must hold onto your faith and you must fight for your life and not give up, there are people who have not got a choice but you have please you are worth it and can get through this Evelyn.

hugs and prayers to you xx

Soo sorry to hear this but to be honest i had a bad feeling you would do that, go get yourself sorted, I hope you are getting 24 hour care, as soon as you feel better we will be here waiting for you,

Mind yourself, thinking of you.

Sue xxx

I will be sending my prayers (((Evelyn)))

I feel better now I got a hormones shot today, get my act together and quit smoking at 9 am.

I'm just ready to go for my therapy and might get an anti depressivants prescribed Friday.

Guess my hormones were also ******* me up

Evelyn,

Don't be so hard on yourself about quitting smoking right now.  In your situation, your relapse is not a failure because there are bigger issues that you need to deal with right now.  Sounds strange coming from a quit smoking support group, but your life is means more to us and I don't want you to ever try suicide again.  The quitting smoking will come, trust me, it will and I'm glad that you're getting help because the last thing I would ever want to read about is about you harming yourself.

I would never tell anybody it's okay to smoke.  But I will tell you that right now, there are bigger fish to fry.  Of course keep trying to quit but if you relapse, don't be so damn hard on yourself about it.  There will be a time to be hard on yourself for a relapse and this is clearly not the time.

Remember, you are amongst friends here.  Yes I know it's the internet but one of the many good things about the internet is that we can be free and honest because there are no inhibitions as if we were talking to a neighbor or something.

We love you, Evelyn.  I didn't know you prior to you coming here but I truly care about you.  Despite your pain and all you've been through (I have not a clue, I know), I see a strong woman who has an incredible inner strength to succeed and heal.  :)

Prayers for you Evelyn!  I am glad that you are getting the help that you need and deserve!

Glad your going for help

Evelyn, sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way!  Hugs!!

Evelyn,

Get yourself on track, right now that is the most important thing.  When you visit the psychiatrist, please tell him/her about the natural supplements you have been taking.  I am glad you feel comfortable venting here.  Take Care...(((Evelyn)))

The hormone pill shot seems to balance things. Appearently if you suddenly stop using it you can get emotional even labile in my case. Thanks for all the support. I'm on patch 2 now doing fine. The reason I picked up my quit right away is due my severe asthma it's destructive too and strengthens negative thoughts.

Had therapy today and my T said I have to let my emotions flow to level 2 then let one of the other parts take over who are not so overwhelmed. That way I can process but prevent crisis. I'm still going to see my psychiatrist and ask for a low dosis of antidepressivant a classic one wich I react better to.

So glad you have a plan of action Evelyn. Didn't last a day with my Internet ban, could not stop thinking of you while at work.

Just just so very glad that the professionals are there to help and advise you. Xxx

Hi Evelyn stay strong and I am glad you are getting help, I've been where you are many years ago, and my suicide attempt was meet with hostility at the hospital, things are so much better today and people are far more open and honest, I truly hope you can get a little closure, concentrate on yourself and take care xx

Jackie, a big bear hug from across the pond.

Yesterday I went back and forth about this and finally self censored what I really wanted to say. Yeah, I refrained from saying light up and have at it - get the med issue dealt with and then worry about smoking. It can take years for a smoking related illness to jump up and say Gotcha!, whereas you can bleed out in the bathtub in fifteen minutes.

(Edit...)

Somebody will still be around when you get centered again.
