My suffering smoking friend...

Featured Replies

OK...more news on my best friend ...the smoker....

She has been over sweating...which has been distressing for her.

So...doc sent her for blood tests...when they came back he sent for her pronto....

She now has to go to the hospital to have a heart monitor machine ..fitted for a day

As her heart is beating irregular....

She has assured me though...its nothing to do with smoking....

I say the jury is out....

:(

It's a shame that she is still in denial about smoking.  I'm sorry ((mammy))

So sad...complete denial.

:(  I hope she comes to her senses soon.  Strange to me how we can lie to ourselves like that but I did the same at one time.

No, neither does lungcancer and COPD. Does your friends live in fairyland?

Sorry I KNOW smokers make excuses and that's what the addiction is built one, but these kinds responses make me cynical.

The left arm hurting and hartpounding on Saturday was from panick and infection on my arm. STILL I lighted that stinky fag. STILL I asked another 2 and kept smkoing for another 2 days.

ONCE you let the junkie in youalready lost half the battle.

BUT not the war so if you're able to educate your friend...?

So sorry Doreen.  :(  She is probably so scared and just can't admit it.   This addiction - ugh!  When I was a smoker, during my most stressful times, I smoked knowing it was so wrong, but in the back of my head, I always said, "this is the last one." or "I'll quit tomorrow."  But man, I wouldn't give up those smokes then.

How is your friend doing mammy?

Thank you sweetheart for asking....as far as I am aware ...she is still smoke free...

She has recieved 3 hospital appointments before the end of the month...keep a check on her heart...

I hope she has the will to stay quit...

Xxxx

With a friend like you, Doreen, she has great chances of staying quit if she wants to.

Sending all goodness.
