I'm back...

Featured Replies

Hello everyone! I'm back, and hopefully, I'll stay on the train this time. I had a freaky accident in early spring, among other issues, and I'm embarrassed to admit that I let the many excuses (depression, stress, etc.) overpower rational thinking, which led me to relapse.

Anyway, fast-forward to three weeks ago things had somewhat settled down after the corrective surgery, and I decided it was time to climb back aboard the Quit Train. I'm now 19 days smoke-free, so I'm dropping in to say hello!

Here's hoping I can stay on board this time. I really need to stop treating the Quit Train like a hop-on, hop-off service! 😂🚂”

JJ

It isn't so much that you are treating QTrain like hop-on, hop-off service,

it is YOUR LIFE.

If you continue to smoke the hop-on may no longer be an option!

Please consider the gravity of your choices.

Your quit must be the primary focus, the haps in your life secondary.

Nicotine addiction only adds to "depression and stress, etc.".

I hope you are continuing to educate yourself about the addiction

and find comfort in all of us around here, past and future,

who have created a successful quit.

This is completely in Your power and you will find your way

when you fully commit to Not One Puff Ever.

I know damn well it isn't the easiest task; addiction is a bitch,

but You can succeed as we have, one day at a time.

Sometimes one nano second at a time.

You will be amazed at the residual benefits that come with quitting.

A pride in yourself, a deep trust in yourself, a kindness towards yourself.

You deserve all of this and more.

Glad you are here. Do not give up on yourself.

Hi JJ

Welcome back to the train! I jumped on again 17 days ago. Felt the same embarrassment too, stopped for a few years and restarted for god knows what “good” reason. Anyway, here to stay now and happy to share this carriage and quit journey with you! We will do this 👊🏼

'hop-on, hop-off' was meant as a joke

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the note. I'm still smoke free, 22 days and counting...

I no longer have cravings, but sometimes I just keep thinking about it...

Yes, we can do this, and we will do this!

How are you doing Andy?

JJ

Ya, that "Cha Cha" dance can be a killer. Maybe work on changing why you thought smoking had something to offer you to entice you to go back to it and put up warning "gates" for yourself in the future. Not preaching as I went back to smoking after a year and a half quit myself so I had to really break it down to protect and change myself too. Just a thought. Congrats on 22 days and counting UP!

I hope you find your way to a final, permanent quit this time @FinalAttempt

It's there waiting for you to find the right path this time and have learned from previous failures so that you won't be fooled again by the same sneaky whisperings from your nicotine addiction. Stay strong and make quitting your number 1 focus until you have a lock on your new quit!

As others have said, the eventual benefits you will realize from quitting are far more numerous than what you can imagine now. Well worth the effort you're making!!

Gday

Getting off the train isnt just a simple action it involves a decision. A decision that can be made the other way as well and stay on the train.

Hoping off means all those miles and all that time means nothing. Zip.

Don’t mean to sound mean it’s just that I’ve being doing that same thing my whole life.

Hoping off with the excuse that you can always hope on again just reinforces its power over you.

A win to the nicotine comes at your loss….. always

Sorry to hear that you went back @Andy75 , but you know the drill and you can do this for sure! Just stay close to the train and you will beat it!!99_muscle👍 This is my second and final time quitting. The first time I quit for 6 years and then went back, but I really believe if I had found the Train back then, I wouldn't have gone back at all. So keep close to the Train because it really does help save your quit!!
