Greetings everyone!

Some may remember me from months ago. I'm the guy who's quit and relapsed too many times to count since boarding this train over a year ago.

Well, I'm back after months of being hopelessly addicted and ready to break free from the chains again.

Hope everyone is well and, especially those who are still in the early stages of freedom from the addiction, maintaining stalwart resolve.

Until later

(and kind regards)20260123_105623.thumb.jpg.6594689ba303a54c8fe9225ea085df35.jpg

Welcome back @Pilgrim!

We had actually just posted a celebratory message to you thinking you were now 3 months smoke free.

In any case, I'm glad you're back for another start at finding YOUR freedom! You know the drill ... NOPE! (Not One Puff Ever). One day at a time will get you to your destination.

Cat's & boxes😆

Hi Pilgrim - glad you are back.

I, too, was a serial quitter, so I can definitely relate.

My biggest suggestion is to come here and stay here. Everyone here understands exactly what you are going through. And everyone is so willing to pick you up when you are about to fall. I had folks stay with me on the SOS thread until I felt strong and confident. I was actually on a different message board that unfortunately crashed and burned and luckily the Quit Train welcomed me. So I can't go back and look at my old posts, but trust me, I was a mess!

Posting helps, the good, the bad. and the ugly.

My mantra was Smoking Is Not An Option...NO MATTER WHAT. It was a powerful tool for me. As was deep breathing. The strength is in you, keep pulling it up.

(edit to say - your cat is beautiful!!!)

Thank you all for the encouraging words.

The cat in the box is my kitty-boy Fergus. He's turning 2 soon. :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
