January 27, 20251 yr Author I don't look forward to those situations, but in a unique way I've come to appreciate them as an opportunity to reinforce my quit. "Embrace the suck," as my military friends say, and sometimes you'll almost enjoy them as an opportunity to grow. It's not that you want it to happen, but if you see it as an opportunity to grow as a person, it makes the silver lining that much brighter.
January 27, 20251 yr Gday The more times you face a “trigger” the weaker it becomes. I’m always amazed that the two bigies “the first smoke of the day” and “ finish of a meal smoke” weakened and lost thier power so quickly. It was because I just got to face them more regular, I got to ignore them more and every time they came I realised they had less and less power over me.
February 19, 20251 yr Author Today I'm 16 months free from smoking! I'm going for a fancy coffee or four to celebrate.
February 19, 20251 yr Congratulations Penguin Enjoy your coffee … Thank you for all you bring to the Train 🐸
February 20, 20251 yr Congrats Penguin! 4 coffees! I hope that you enjoyed them. I developed an intolerance to caffeine after I quit smoking. I still drink it but it makes me cry or I get extremely nervous. I was hoping it would go away after so much time but it hasn’t. I hate not enjoying my coffee like I used to.
