July 26, 201412 yr I was doing great and thought I would be ditching the gum this weekend. Well, I had a friend for lunch. She is one of my best friends, super-healthy, non-smoker, vegetarian, intelligent, rich... but hyperactive. VERY hyperactive. (What is the opposite of "calming"?) We were supposed to go to the bars tonight, but I´m not going anywhere. I am craving and I don´t want to be anywhere near cigarettes tonight. No way. So I have opened a bottle of wine, and I have 3 gums left. Oh what a night! :-)
July 26, 201412 yr Susana, you will be fine Chica. Strong decision process. The quit is everything for now, but you will get there!
July 26, 201412 yr You got this Susana... Until you feel comfortable around triggers, its best to avoid them!.. Use tonight to strengthen your quit...you ARE stronger than it is...you can and did tell it no! There are no rules...do whatever is necessary to wake up in the morning as a non-smoker... 1/2 the battle is recognizing it..you already know what may happen, so there is no reason you cant make the night end the way you want it to :)
July 26, 201412 yr Wow Susana, I'm so proud of you.....protecting your quit.....that's my girl...... All those things will still be there, when you are strong enough....well done....
July 26, 201412 yr Author I am firmly assured that I DO NOT WISH TO SMOKE EVER EVER AGAIN. But I´m afraid that I may have one mojito too many and lose grip. So, here I stay. I should have posted this in "social" because it may be a long night...
July 26, 201412 yr Love that song, good on ye for staying in, you'll be delighted with yourself In the morning x
July 26, 201412 yr Author I remember... one night I relapsed... not because I was drinking or drunk... because I didn´t care for my quit, so I threw it away...like that. It did sound like a good idea at the time, so maybe I was a little drunk after all. Then in the morning I woke up... "bloody smoking dreams".... "hmmmm... I can even taste smoke". :shout: The realisation it was NOT a dream..... A W F U L Never ever ever EVER again I want to feel that again. N.O.P.E.
July 26, 201412 yr Your quit is the top priority, don't worry if you need to push some things to the side.
July 27, 201412 yr Author It´s 2am and I´m going to bed now... thinking "oh, I´m fine, I should have gone out after all" noooooooo! Better to miss one night out than to risk ruining my quit. Thank you for bearing with me! A nice song to wish you good night, my friends :give_heart:
July 27, 201412 yr well done susan cool yo u did super sorry if this is messy had a few drinks my self tonight
July 27, 201412 yr Susana, you freaking ROCK !!!! You are so doing this. You are seriously a lot stronger than you even know. I'm so glad your here.
July 27, 201412 yr Sorry I was chilling with no computer on :( How fab are you though!!! Totally spot on decision, protect the quit at ALL costs. Treat it like an infant baby, at first it needs constant vigilance and then it grows some independence and gets easier to work with :) So proud of you!! And happy for you. Every time you acknowledge a trigger or crave and deal with it you teach the addiction part of your brain that you're done now. Makes me smile to see all these turning corner updates, love it!! :)
