July 15, 20188 yr We tested and surpassed all reasonable limits for loading a box truck today. Made two trips. And....we're almost there. With moving, it seems the faster you run the further away the finish line gets.

July 16, 20188 yr The move is about 80-85% complete. We're actually ahead of schedule. Took some things out of storage today. Unpacked a lot of boxes. Got the hardwood floors in the living room looking like new and painted the walls in the master bedroom. I've got a couple of guys coming in on Tuesday to put down new carpet in the bedroom. I tend to like going the DIY route, but after my first and last attempt at putting down carpet...I decided that was a job better left to professionals. 14 hours ago, Doreensfree said: Yaaaa....a party !!!! July 17, 20188 yr Not a very good marketing strategy, however, this is the definition of a "motivated seller". The guy living across the street from me was an asshole but him and the 1/2 dozen hoodlums living there skipped out the day before the police came around aiming assault rifles at the place. It is boarded up now so at least i do not have to live across the street from a G.D. criminal. The worst part - he smokes cigarettes. July 18, 20188 yr Down to the final touches now. Put in a fancy new shower head and replaced some faucets today. Moving furniture around, etc., etc. Now to the really fun part. There is a perfect building spot on the back edge of the property. I'm building a 60x40 steel building back there. It's going to be my gym, complete with a new custom built rack with a Deadlift platform and high bars for Olympic rings and climbing ropes. I'm also going to store canoes, shotguns, and fishing gear in there. This is not going to be some puny "man cave." This is going to be a full-on testosterone barn.

If you ask Sugar Britches, she's decided there's more work to be done. The master bath was renovated by the former owners four-years-ago, so there wasn't much to be done there. New shower head, faucets, and a few minor touches...done! And for that matter, I think the half bath is done as well. Sugar Britches on the other hand, has been watching HGTV again and decided that we need a "vessel sink" and some new cabinets in there. I swear if she keeps watching those shows and looking at renovation & remodeling websites, getting new ideas in her head everyday...I'm never going to be finished working on this house.

I suggested adding a wooden bar that runs the length of the island in the kitchen. Sugar Britches likes the idea and has been so distracted looking at designs, wood types, and bar stools...there hasn't been any talk of renovating the half bath for over 48 hours. And that, friends and neighbors, is called a win/win situation.
July 29, 20188 yr Ok so there may be requests to hand in the chick card over this statement BUT: .... as long as the half bath is clean and functioning who gives a shit how it looks... its not for display purposes or entertaining (well at least not usually) so clean, working, not all chipped and cracked... then its fine.... now a wooden bar is functional.... and it can be used to make things look pretty and unless you are talking pine diagonal half wall coverings with wallpaper on top timber doesn't really age.... definitely the reno job to go with. This reno job... not so much:
