Melanoma gone

Featured Replies

I had the surgery last month and the tissue taken around the melanoma was cancer free, so yay!  Never thought such a large area would be removed for such a little thing.  Ended up with stitches from the top of my jaw to nearly my chin.  Lucky for me it's on my jaw line and lucky it was caught early.  Had a nasty staph infection, but it's looking good now.  Fingers crossed this is it.  Never leave the house without sunblock head to toe and just embrace my English and Irish pasty white glow ☺️

That is fantastic news Colleen. Great advice too.  the more agressive surgery is the way to go so you doc has done well. Sending positive healing vibes your way. My dad’s surgeon says they are like iceburgs, alway bigger below the surface.

embrace the peaches and cream comlexion, going through life without a tan never hurt Nicole Kidman, cos fair is beautiful too.

We have this product here called Bio Oil Body Oil which is a miracle treatment for reducing scars, I had a split on my forehead that needed stitches and it was scarring a bit so my sister in law put me onto this stuff and the scar is now barely noticeable. It’s cheap too. You can probably get it over there.

Oh my,  such wonderful news!  I am so glad you are okay!

One more thing that used to be cool and is a killer...tanning. (not saying you did that, Colleen, just as a warning to others)

Good news.  Congratulations Ginger.

Great news to hear Colleen. Well done on catching it early and good that the healing is progressing well.

That's fantastic.  I'm sure being 5 years smoke-free tilted the scale towards a better outcome.
