OK let's get this show on the road, because honestly none of my smoking chick friends hve quit and there's just some sh¡t only another chick will have experienced.

 

1. Did anyone else have their period go screwy when they quit. Let's just say I can confirm it is not menopause as i have the blood test to prove that but since I quit my period has been all over the shop. My doctors more worried about health issues than he is about this issue and fobbed it off as probably part of the quit.. But guess what I can't find any infirmation out there on it so I'm hoping some of the chicks here might know.

 

 

I was looking online for you and there is a lot of anecdotal evidence plus the fact that smoking/quitting smoking affects our hormones. 

Many women experience irregularity which resolves itself after a while.

We had a lady bit thread here somewhere, don't remember if your issue was addressed.  I'll look for it and bump it.

 

 

I read another member had that problem too jo. Unfortunately I can't speak for myself as I went instantly into menopause when I got my tubes tied at 39! I think though that anytime we throw our systems off we face that issue as women. If your Dr isn't worried about it than try not to worry about it either. And look on the bright red side as long as "George" is visiting you you'll know you aren't pregnant lol

I should also add that stress messes with our bodies too!

@jillaroh hell no there is no way I'm risking ever being pregnant again. I'll settle on the miracle I have and not tempt fate.

You know what really sucks about it... The frickin kids cycles up th Kaiser too.... So not only am I having magical period lottery but so is she... She came out the other night and said that's it the tracker apps are useless it said I have nearly 2 more weeks but no it here again.... Why mum why.

 

 Just lucky I guess?... No way am I yelling her about syncing...cos that will be my fault too... Do you think its mean that I'm not sympathetic to her cramping and tell her to suck it up?

Nah, my mom wasn't sympathetic to me either lol. And my cramps were horrible. 

I do make her a cuppa earl grey tea and get her a nice hot water bottle... But that's it.

I gave the kid the day off when she first got it and took her to the pancake parlour... She was only itty bitty and had been handling it so well... Can out in the middle if night to announce she had it and it had wrecked her favourite pair of giraffe nickers Santa got her... Got dressed for school the next morning and in the car I look over and the bottom lips wobbling and silent tears are running own her cheek so I caved.

Awww poor birdie, the first one is always so scary and sad....

Maybe it is HER fault. Maybe you are syncing with her irregularity.

During my pause, I would always get my period if my daughter was in town.

Also, it was guaranteed if The Beloved was in town or if he was threatening to be...even if it was every other week.

It got to be a joke and I made him a  big rosette ribbon with a red cross patch , The Red Badge of Courage.

Finally, they are GONE but, I still feel 'bloaty' just before daughter visits.

Hormones are a bizarre way of doing business.

It's that far back I carnt remember ..whahahaha...

I was 11 ..my mum told me nothin...I thought I was dying...didn't have a clue...

I took up smoking roughly the same time...figures !!!!!

@Doreensfree my mom didn't tell me a thing either so I too thought I was dying lol. My older sister is the one who told me about tampons instead of those horrible maxi pads. My mom had told us you couldn't use them if you were a virgin lol Thank goodness for older sisters!

I havnt got a sister...you were lucky !!!....

I was 9... I knew about it because I had read Every Woman out of the book case... Let's just say I knew a lot for a 9 year old....my mum told me about tampons my second period cos I asked her to tell dad I couldn't go swimming as I had a meet, she gave me $5 and sent me to the milk bar ( corner shop) to get some it wasn't a nice experience and then left me to work it out.. I sorted out my baby sisters.

And all you biatches who have been through the change... So frucking jealous!!!! The doctor said I'm at least 10 years if not 20 off it. NHJ!!!!
