Poor wee man got his first real boo-boo. See beside his eye? His right (our left). He was trying to climb...yes climb! up a cabinet and fell over. I told his mama "Just wait until he's riding things down the stairs and jumping off furniture!"

Fear. Fear is what kept me from quitting. Irrational, invented, mostly fictional unrealistic fear. I told myself I was afraid to put on weight, afraid of withdrawal, afraid Id just fail and go through withdrawal for nothing, afraid Id lose my smoking friends. I told myself all sorts of lies so I could continue to feed my addiction. The number one lie: I like smoking. Its really so good.....so so good....to be free from the bondage of nicotine.

1) Smoking does not guarantee your admission into the cool-kids-club. What looks cool right now at 16, is just your immature brain playing a trick on you. 2) Use birth control! 3) Stay at home and let your parents pay for med school. :)

What should one do about getting themselves a ticker.....if they cant remember their exact quit date? Dont make fun....Comrade always kept track for me and now he's lying around somewhere recuperating, eating chick peas and spinach. All I know is he had 2 days on me. I think.

I am SO late to this....but I just want you to know.......that little voice that only hears 'smoking sucks, nobody is happy non-smokers, I cant do this, I'll try again some other time, etc'.....thats addiction, whispering in your ear. Im almost 10 months in....and Im free. TRULY free. I dont know what day it happened, or if there even was a specific day.... I just know that somewhere around 2-3 months I started noticing I had stretches of time where I didnt think about smoking/not smoking at all. Then I noticed those stretches were actually DAYS long. Then weeks. And then one day I just realized I had turned some kind of corner. I USED to be a smoker....but I never will again. I will never return to being a slave to those godforsaken terrible things. I feel great. Do you hear me?? It doesnt suck...its not awful....freedom feels fan-freaking-tastic. And its yours for the taking. All you have to do is NOT TAKE ONE SINGLE PUFF and trust us when we tell you....it will get better. It will get easier. It will become joyful! :)
