Awesome! Getting a dog is so exciting. You can never go wrong with a Lab but I'm bias. Siberians require miles and miles of daily exercise. Malamutes are beautiful but can be aggressive. If you enjoy the great outdoors, get a Lab. Better yet, get one from the Pound.

  12. Rant away, this is the place to do it! Also understand that you will have weird phases in your early days and for some of us, this sad/angry/frustrated manifestation is one but do know it will not last forever. I cried. I had waves of being a seething b*tch about anything and everything. Honest to Pete, I didn't even like being around myself let alone other people. I took a lot of epsom salt/lavender oil baths. LOL, true story. If you can find a way to observe it as a phase rather than get caught up in it, it really does help. Let it out while minimizing the damage....and roll with it. And always remember that you are doing something HUGE and important for your life. Big Kudos Kendra.

  19. :D :D :D :D :D Thanks!! Let me just say month 6 was FABULOUS (other than those few moments of smelling phantom smoke that wasn't there ). I am so grateful to have found this place and to have had your support. And yes, helping others helps ourselves...it's how it works. Here's a diddy to share... When I was a smoker, I lived with the constant fear that at any moment I could have a heart attack. Seriously, it was always in the back of my mind. WELL, it dawned on me two days ago that I have not had those thoughts in a LONG time. It was a great moment when I realized the fear had vanished AND that I'd not even noticed. What a beautiful gift. And to think it's how normal people live, ha. I may have been able to quit without you all, but it wouldn't have been as manageable. No jail time, no bondsmen involved, very cool <snort>. I so appreciate you all, thank you!
