  15. Do you ever have those random memories that just pop into your head when you getting ready for work or shaving or something??? I was a swimmer in high school. It was something I was very proud of because I wasn't good at very many things, had low self-esteem, etc, but I was a decent swimmer. My family didn't have much money, parents were divorced, dad was a carpenter during the 80's when the housing crashed so he was unemployed more than employed. Anyway, so I had to get a team swimsuit for my senior year in high school (which was a very rough year for me). They were very expensive, so it had quite a bit of emotional value to me. I loved that suit. I had to get suits for previous years too, but they were cheaper quality, and it wasn't my senior year. So fast forward a few years. I am in college, was living in and out of my Mom's place. You know how college is, you move in & out of the parent's place, but your room is always kinda there how you left it. So, I go back to my Mom's one day to get some stuff and stay the weekend or whatever. I was looking specifically for my team suit as the thought of getting back into swimming was popping around in my head. I couldn't find it anywhere. So, I'm like, "Mom, have you seen my suit?" She's like, "What suit?" "You know, my team swim suit from High School. It was purple - one piece." "Oh. I gave that to good will." I was floored.. I was like, "What??? Are you sure? That was my team suit. You gave it away?" "Yeah," she says. "Sorry. I was going through your stuff and gave a bunch of old clothes away. I figured that since they were here, you didn't want them." I was pissed, but couldn't really get mad at her cuz I knew she obviously didn't realize how important it was to me. To this very day, I am still pissed that she gave my suit away. That there is my random memory for the day. :)

  18. You are doing great! Keep enjoying your quit!!! On occasion, some people who have very positive and easy quits like yours will have a random craving that is difficult. However, this does not sound like you at all. It sounds like you have embraced this quit and are thoroughly enjoying it. If the need arises, you know we are here. :)
  19. Happy Birthday, Marcus. xoxo

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
