  1. Hey Tommy, I've quit a few times over the years, and from my experience, once the uncomfortable physical withdrawal symptoms have subsided it's a pretty enjoyable recovery. It's a matter of perspective, of course, but I want to encourage you to focus on the positive: your senses clearing up, not stinking like an ashtray, the time you gain, saving money, etc. If you're feeling depressed, the obvious question is, are you going through anything else at the moment, or is quitting the cause? If a smoke-free life is the cause of your blues, then put an end to that attitude this moment! You've freed yourself from a death trap addiction! There's nothing to mourn over. healthy body = healthy mind
  2. Hey Jane, Good for you! Try to rid yourself of nicotine in any form as soon as possible. As long as you keep putting it in you, you're fueling the addiction. Best to get that drug out of you completely. Purge your body and rejoice for your independence.
  3. I appreciate the support. Thank you all.
  4. 3 weeks today and feeling motivated!
  5. Another day almost over... and NOPE! ...AND FN!
  6. Congrats on quitting, but you need to rid yourself of nicotine completely. Get off those patches and get that nicotine, that insidious drug, out of your system for good! Cold turkey purge! The physical withdrawal symptoms are only bad for a few days. It helped me to see the withdrawal discomforts as my body riding itself of that nasty addiction and healing. The physical addiction is the little monster. The big monster is of course the mental addiction. I strongly recommend doing the daily "NOPE" pledge in this group, and keep in mind, you're freeing yourself from the enslavement of nicotine addiction!
  7. I quit a week and a day ago. The physical discomfort, that void within, starving for nicotine, is barely a whisper on the wind. I'm feeling healthier. I'm jogging, my lungs are pumping easier. It's a good place to be. I feel the romantic nostalgia for nicotine growing, but my defenses of common sense and dreams are holding steadfast. I wish you, however far you've come, to feel pride in yourself for making it this far.
  8. Once again the day is over and I can successfully check "NOPE."
  9. Don't give in, it's simply not worth it! NOPE!
  10. It's more like I'm checking off another day of dedication to my Quit, rather then starting the day with a pledge. Nope! -unless it's a cream puff!
  11. Day four of my quit. There are waves of cravings, but I'm staying strong. NOPE!
  12. The day is almost over now, but still; NOPE!
  13. I will stay strong. I won't give nicotine the chance to imprison me again!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
