  19. When MQ posted a pic of his view off of his back deck a few days ago, it got me thinking that maybe we could start a thread posting pics from each of our areas... Ii think it would be interesting to see what everyone else sees when the look out their back yard. (or the surrounding country side) I am going to post a few from my back yard..they are not the best, but its a place to start..feel free to add pics of your little slice of heaven :) Since MQ is from this area, he already has an idea what the flat lands of Ohio and the waters of Lake Erie look like, but for those of you who doesnt... This is looking off my back deck beside my garage..the deer are not afraid to come up and eat the grass.....(along with skunks, racoons, rabbits, ground hogs etc) You see a field beyond my yard, then there is a small wooded area and beyond that the Sandusky River.. Its a little dark, but this was taken about 6am one morning as I was leaving for work...its a pic of my side yard after a DOWN POUR!..the water flowing through the yard between my house and the neighbors isnt supposed to be there...lol..but these shots gives you an idea of the space I have around me...My grandparents built this house in 1940 and when my grandmother went into a nursing home and we had to sell the house, I bout it..I always loved the location...pretty peaceful.. This is in front of the garage in the dead of winter...I was pushing the snow back and getting ready for more..I sure did work the old Deere this year...(Ohio winters SUCK!) Here is a few pics of Lake Erie scenery ..this one is when the Tall Ships were on the Lakes as a re-enactment...Fishing for Lake Erie Yellow Perch and Walleye is about all I do on the lake besides a few trip to the islands in the summer (Put-In-Bay ..South Bass Island...Kellys Island etc) Marblehead Light House...(Cedar point is off to the right in this pic) anyone else care to share? :)

Thanks for the responses... you are right Fay..they could have done some damage... last week I transferred quite a bit of money to those accounts. My "other" house needs a roof and a new furnace, which I just got estimates for and at "this" house I am putting in a blacktop drive and just got an estimate for a small expansion to the upstairs (adding a full length shed dormer)..so I transfer quite a bit so that the projects I decided to go forward with, I had the money for a deposit on hand. . Yes Ross...I am looking forward to Mondays event!.. . And for any of you who work in banking..I thank you for your diligence. I am sure a computer program "kicks out" suspicious transactions to be brought to your attention, but if it was ignored, a lot of people would lose plenty of money.. My Bank is locally owned and operated with about 6 branches total.I really like the personal service I get.
  23. Just got back from a "lunch date" with my oldest granddaughter and when the time come to pay, my card was refused!!! How embarrassing!..Good thing she had a little cash with her,as I didnt have quite enough to cover it, or we would be in the back room doing dishes right now :( ... I really need to remember to grab some cash before I leave the house.I have become too dependent on my card working..and ..I only carry the 1 (credit/debit tied to checking account)...all others I leave at home..I dont use them.. Before I got home, I stopped by the local bank and used the ATM and my balance was what I expected it to be in both my savings and checking...but when I tried to withdraw some cash, it kept declining it. As I come into the house, I hear my answering machine beeping (yes, I still have one of those..lol) as it turns out it was the fraud department of the bank and I needed to call them back and confirm purchases I made in Bangladesh and Great Britain among numerous States and web sites...Needless to say, I didnt make those purchases, so I just got done cancelling my cards... the good news is, the fraud dept. caught it early, and even though they tried to use it in MANY transactions , less than $5.00 in purchases were approved... The bad news is, at 7am on Monday morning my wife and I will be at the local hospital anxiously awaiting the arrival of our granddaughter..and with today being Sat. I am stuck with the little bit of cash I had before the card got shut down and cant get more until the banks open and I go there in person... it could have been worse, but just the inconvenience of it p!sses me off ! Ok..just venting...now I will return you to your regularly scheduled topics :)
