  21. Thanks everyone. :) I had a great weekend! It was Sherries weekend off work, so on Sat. morning we loads up the Mustang and took off for Columbus. My daughter Jodi bought a new house a couple months ago, and Sherrie hasn't seen it since a lot of painting and projects have been complete. And since her husband is out of the state for an extended time (training in Wisconsin for a new job with Amazon) we went down to hang out with her. Sat. evening she had made reservations at a nice restaurant , and surprised us when our youngest daughter Kristin showed up. She lives in the same general area, but we were told she had to work and couldn't make it. On the drive home Sunday, we stopped by Jenni's house and sat and visited with them for a couple hours before heading home. Kelli and her family was out of the state attending a wedding in Iowa... her two girls were Jr. bridesmaid/flower girl... so we didn't get to see them, but I have plans to go back to Columbus this coming weekend and spend a little time with them. So....all in all, it was a great time...I spent time with most of my girls, and put about 500 miles on the Mustang. Sorry I didn't acknowledge this sooner, but I left my phone and iPad at home on the weekend... I guess I am still old school....I don't "need" to stay connected every minute... I'll check my messages when I get home and return any important calls then....lol Thanks for all the birthday wishes.. It made my day when I seen them! :D
  22. Well done Hot Cakes! ;) You have rocked this quit from the beginning... You "get it" !!! Congrats!
  23. The trip home was uneventful, but awful crowded. I have to say, the city of Cleveland done a great job of keeping traffic flowing, at least on this first day. A lot of the streets down town were closed because of the convention, which meant that everything needed rerouted.....making all the streets bumper to bumper the whole way out of the city......but...it DID flow nicely. However, I still went about an hour out of my way and went south first, before heading back west so I am sure that saved me a lot of headaches.... The Dr. has to have a few more tests, but the MRI shows protuding disc at L5, and slightly protruding disc at L4. That's the same ones I had surgery on 1 1/2 years ago.(I had a laminectomy along with decompression, and repairs to the discs) He knows the L5 disc is such that it is what's causing the pains in my left leg, but nothing is showing up as a reason for the lower back pain. He wants an X-Ray and a CT scan so he can see if there is any slipping...if so..., depending on how bad it is,... he said a fusion may be the only option. I have an appointment on Aug.4th with the pain Managment clinic, and they will discuss less invasive options....epidurals, PT, possible medication (non narcotic, non opioids ... More like muscle relaxants and an anti inflammatory).. But, as of now, the Dr. Is calling it "fail back surgery syndrome"...because there doesn't seem to be an obvious cause...hopefully something shows up that can be fixed... Until then, I guess I need to sit back with my feet up and rest.........lol.....no, he said to stay active , without getting to physical.. Lots of walking would be good....
  24. Well, not knowing what to expect, I left home an hour earlier than normal because I was afraid the traffic would be terrible in/around Cleveland today... As it turned out, everything was normal.....well , as normal as Cleveland ever gets..lol. I arrived for my appointment an hour ahead of schedule and am now just sitting around waiting to be seen by the Dr. I will take waiting here over waiting in traffic any day!... Now just to figure out what to do about this pain in my back.....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
