If it's the doughnuts you're trying to avoid then best steer clear. One battle at a time. Glad you're not obsessing over the amount of time without a doughnut. Proud of you ?.
  6. So 2 answers in and we have a winner. Don't worry Fluffy it's not you (although you knew the answer), because 1 answer in we had a winner and that is @notsmokinjo. 1. Is true sadly, 150 lbs would be about ideal (10st 10, 68 kg) and I was carrying about 7 lbs too much before, but I've put a little(?) extra on 2. Is true. I've only just worked out (slow on the uptake) that I used to do stretching exercises in the morning, standing in the garden with a coffee and a fag, need to get back out there minus the fag. 3. False. I will occassionally go for a run, but the extra poundage at the moment limits that to the cricket field for now. So Jo, you're up.

Let the other half choose (as long as she chooses My Best Friends Wedding or 10 Things I Hate About You. Or, I know, let's watch When Harry Met Sally again) Movie date night ... Romcom or drama?

  9. Congratulations on 2 months quit Opah!
  10. Kate, congratulations on the family news, that is awesome. Love the way you are doing this and the bit of fun in your post. I'd stick with the cherry and vanilla if I were you though, a far better flavour. I'm a grandad to 3 and we get sleep overs at our place. I can tell you that we have so much more fun than ever before since I gave up. No itching for time away so I can have a smoke. No worries about the smell when I give those great big joyous hugs. No compromise at all on our time. You are making smart choices, carry on posting lots, carry on getting the extra sleep, carry on with little treats. We are here ready to support whenever you need.
  11. A bleary eyed, but very emphatic Nope! Not today, today is a very good day, so no reason to ruin it.

Depends, a slanging match is likely to remain just that and peter out, so leave alone, threat of violence would be different. Cinema snack - Popcorn or bag of sweets?

Stop to help, although I will readily defer to someone who knows what they are doing. Step back from the light is all I've got. Begging on the street, drop some coins or walk on by?

  17. One of the glorious, unexpected, side benefits of giving up smoking is the fact that it is so much easier to be honest with ourselves. I love this. You are so strong it is easy to support you and I'm so proud of you that you have managed to go through all of this with your quit intact and more than that thriving.
  18. This is great news, we get our normal Jo back! Whatever normal means in this case ? Don't make us come over there and confiscate all the timtams in Oz, just so you can't get your mitts on them.
  19. My one was unlucky because it got run over by a car ... twice. Should you really do that?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
