Remembrance of My Mother-In-Law
I am so sorry to hear that this is what she, you and all your family members have been going through. What a terrible disease that strips away the person you love and can no longer recognize, nor eventually be recognized by. May she rest in peace. May your family's sorrow be eased by the comfort of drawing closer together in her memory. Condolences.

Stay on your guard
I have the same reaction to seeing people smoking in a movie and no such reaction to seeing people smoke in real life. Like you, I would never act (stupid) on an impulse like that but I find it kind of fascinating that this happens. I wonder if it has to do with my unconscious identification with a character in a movie. That kind of identification doesn't happen between myself and another real person and so therefore that feeling doesn't come up. Just thinking it through... Don't mind me....

What's new since you quit??
Wow- I could never take it either for that same reason. Maybe I'll try it if I get a cold. Thanks for that!

Hello I am a new member
Hello Jayhawk and welcome to the QuitTrain! First off, congratulations on your quit! Secondly, if you haven't already done so, read as much as you can of the information for new members. The Joel Spitzer library has been a great resource for me. You can find videos on a myriad of topics related to quitting smoking. It seems whatever you are up against at any given moment, you can usually find a video that addresses that particular issue. Sit back and enjoy the ride. I think you'll find support and valuable information here, as I have. Best wishes, PeaceTrain
