  1. Welcome to the Quit Train Jim "Handsome To A Fault" lol. Sincerely though, we welcome all newcomers heartily and offer any support we can give. You've got a great quit going there, very similar to my own so let's get this done and make it even stronger. (Nice choice of dogs too by the way :) )
  2. We'll get Bakon to video tape it all
  3. Yeah - chick avalanche today Stewie :( -13
  4. I'm pretty sure I've used over 100 today - so many likes, my mouse clicker thingy is tired :P
  5. So happy you 2 will stick around even after your other board gets back up and running. We're a little weird here sometimes but we may just grow on you over time :D
  6. ^^^^ Well said J5 :) Education and attitude is everything when it's comes to quitting.

  8. OK - I'm in!! NOPE!
  9. Give her the old "quit smoking already" talk again too Doreen. It may not do any good but it'll make you feel better. Enjoy :D
  10. Just remember, we sticks have the BIGGER SLAP!
  11. Why don't we just get a double and share :P
  12. Way to go Carsmummy :) Proud of you girl! That 1st week is tough and now you're through. Still more fight ahead but it will be getting more and more manageable as you continue!

  14. That's what I was thinking - really bad timing!! Sorry it worked out that way. I hope we showed you a little hospitality anyway to help you celebrate your amazing accomplishment :)

  18. Welcome to the Quit Train MM :) You've got a really nice quit going on there - impressive! Glad you could join us and will look forward to your induction to the Lido Deck in a couple of months :)
  19. Hi Stevo. Didn't see a post from you elsewhere so, welcome to the Quit Train! Glad to see the daily Nope is so important to you :)
  20. Love this thread - too funny :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
  21. That's absolutely the way it goes CP1973 :) The longer you go, the stronger you grow. Every time you successfully resist that urge to smoke, you grow stronger for the next one and your addiction gets weaker. Just remain on guard tho as your addicted brain will try and outsmart you at some point of weakness you experience somewhere down the line. Just be on guard for those moments and you'll be fine :) I'm hoping Feely is reading your post here so she/he knows it is possible to get by that initial intense period of withdrawal and that things do become easier to manage fairly quickly.
  22. Now, she's scaring me ..............................
  23. First of all, welcome to you all and I hope you get comfortable here quickly. We are all seeking the same thing, to beat this terrible addiction. Please note, especially for those with "young quits", that we do have an SOS page here. You'll see it at the top of the main board page. Read the pinned intro there please (it's short and to the point). You'll also see a pinned thread called "Pre Respond to Your Own SOS". I would recommend that you post something up there that you can quickly go to and read should you ever have a moment of overwhelming urge to smoke. My recommendation would be to make your post long enough that it takes you a while to read it. Enough time for the urge to die down a little and have some content in there that will be compelling to you. Doesn't have to mean anything to anyone else - only you. Hopefully, you never have to use this but, it's there to help save your quit :) thanks, R.
  24. That's the biggest benefit I noticed early on too Rob. That constant cough and clearing of my throat. Gone or certainly very reduced almost immediately on stopping :)
  25. Welcome Doc. Great to have you on board the quit train! Glad to see you're so committed to making this your permanent quit :) We'll do our best to help you along any way we can.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
