  1. I've been watching this storm as it moved into Fla. and the Ga. You're right ... a real rainmaker this one is. It always shocks me how these storms can continue to make so much rain for suc a long period of time once they make landfall. Batten down the hatches @johnny5, looks like N. Car. is gonna see this one Thursday. Stay safe and hope for the best rain wise 🙏 Based on the early view I'm seeing around Raleigh mid-day Thursday, the really nasty stuff is southwest of you but still close. Of course that could change by then. Hoping for the best outcome for you! That nasty stuff in the screenshot (purple area) is calling for a dumping of 34.6 mm of rain over a 3 hour period - that's a lot of rain ☔
  2. Your positivity on this quit being THE QUIT is a good thing. Keep up that attitude and carry on day by day. The magic of time will heal your desire for nicotine. Nothing beats being quit!
  3. We're supposed to be getting some off & on T-Storms tonight and into the early part of tomorrow. I hope they come at night. I love having them wake me up so I can just lay there watching the flashes of lightning and hear the rumbles of thunder. The cat doesn't much like them though ... 🐈 We'll see if they materialize 🤷‍♂️ Other than that, it's been a grey, gloomy day here. Overcast with some light rain (which we needed very much) and it's spetacularly humid today!
  4. Great work @andyc941! Couple of Peeps from your side of the pond want to add their congrats!
  5. I remember my 6 week mark. I think that was my last real time of tough challenges to my fledling quit. Not saying everything was sunshine & roses after that first 6 weeks but I remember getting past my last real challeng then, something that jumped up from nowhere and stressed me right out so I wanted a smoke but ... didn't and all I had left to do was to keep carrying on with my quit. Day by day; week by week. There were no longer huge daily or weekly battles with myself - just quietly went about building my new non-smoking daily routine and before I knew it, that became my new normal and what a great thing that is ... freedom from nicotine slavery - you should try it; it's the absolute best feeling you could give yourself. Throwing away all your hard work over these past 6 weeks would be such a waste. Keep going even if it is still a little hard. If you take up the smokes again, you might never put them down & that would be a shame 😦
  6. You're doing NOTHING WRONG! Carry on ...............
  7. Tonight was a light, summer evening meal. Twin Lobster Rolls. Fresh lobster from Atlantic Canada cooked yesterday and chilled in the fridge. Then chopped into chunks with some chopped green onion & celery all mixed together with a little mayo, salt & pepper and served on a bed of romaine lettus in a lightly buttered and toasted bun. Quite tastey 🤤
  8. I knew we had an August Quitter around here somewhere! Big congrats @Mee ! 💐🎉
  9. Another reason to love summer is that the Rose of Sharon bush outside my bedroom window is in full bloom now for a few weeks. Nice view to wake up to 👍
  10. Had dinner kind of late at the Port Dalhousie Yacht Club. Just managed to catch the sun between the umbrella and the top of a yacht. Good selection on the menu and it was very good 😍
  11. Great Job @Vuk !! Keep it up! Nope!
  12. Someone on the news tonight was making a joke about the Olympics. They said Canada beat Australia in a Rugby match. That's crazy; pretty sure there's no rugby teams in Canada 😆
  13. Unimaginable horror for the poor parents & families of those kids murdered. I hope they can survive the struggle they will endure for years to come 💐 Isn't Southport pretty close to Liverpool D?
